Colorado Driving
I'm in CO. I actually work here in Longmont.. I don't have an EVO YET, but ever since moving here my front bumper has been assaulted with dings... I hate it... WHEN I get my EVO, I'm putting a bra on it before I leave the dealership...
PS: I saw a REAL EVO 7 yesterday in Boulder (at Chilis). The thing was gutted with coilovers and everything!!! I'm pretty sure it was a Jap spec car since it had a FMIC, but it was a left hand drive model... Man that thing was a sight to see.. You don't happen to know who that is do you (it's white if that helps)?? If he posts over here, I want to try to get a ride in it...

it's Ron Nelson's. He doesn't post here. Haven't seen the car since the 2nd weeks he got it. Glad to see he got the body welds done. He's an SCCA driver, and uses that as his bread and butter. Check out his website. www.coloradorally.org I WANNA RIDE TOO. Actually see Ron all the time in his Evo. each time it looks muddier and muddier
Yup, that's who it was... I was eating lunch before a business meeting, and I noticed a bunch of guys at the table across from us had SCCA gear on (hats, shirts, etc).. I went out to the parking lot to find a bunch of race prepped cars including a 240sx, 300zx, Neon, Impreza, etc.. As I was walking to my car Ron pulled up in his EVO... My mouth about dropped to my feet when the car I've been dreaming about for the past 6 months pulled into the parking space next to me... I wanted to try to talk to him about it, but we were on the way to our meeting so I couldn't...

Ron's cool as hell...When I first found out the Evo was in Boulder I took my OZ to meet it and snapped pics of them together. He came out cause we had been taking so many pictures and started tellin us all about what he does, what was happenin to the evo, what rally was next. Even got to look through his logbook from last year's Superior rally. If you get to meet him again, and he ain't busy, spend some time pickin his brain...
Hey guys, i feel your pains. I live in lakewood and drive a 00' honda. my hood is so chipped, it's not even funny. if the mitsu bra doesn't fit well, you can always go the route of a clear bra, but only problems with the clear bra is every 2-3 years, you have to have it removed and replaced. otherwise it'll stain yellow and crusty hard.
Hey I never been to CO, but what is it that's out there on those raods that cause such disaster to your beautiful paint jobs? I mean the roads here in LA are bad as it is...extremely BAD :soapbox:

They don't salt the roads when it snows, they use this organic crap that is abundant with pebbles. It's also very dry on this side of the rockies so the dirt/rocks gets kicked up with the slightest breeze... If you go around and take note of each car, at least 8 of 10 cars will have a cracked windshield....
I don't know about you guys but working a typical 9-5, 5 days a week is a *****! :soapbox:
Just had to let that one out...
and cheers to many more DECADES of working the same thing all over again and again...

I live in Lakewood, where I also work, so no commute!
Anyhoo, I have a clear bra on my car, but it is a yellow car, so I can't tell if the plastic is yellow or not, heh. It has been on there for three years.
I still have a cracked windshield, though. Bah.
I plan to just get my Evo fixed up now and then. Have the front repainted and new windshield every two years or so. You can't cover EVERY part of the front end with plastic. It would look kinda lame having plastic covered side mirrors and all that anyway, I think.
