Besides wasting huge bandwidth, what is the purpose of this picture? It's not autocross, and its not SMod

I think it was a direct response to the previous post, which I think was asking for a picture of Navid's car.

But certainly inlining a 5 MB JPEG file was a bad decision. Considering that this image will take about 10 minutes(!) to download for a typical modem user...

Great pic, but a LINK would have been more appropriate.

Sticky tires, Hayward & Scott exhaust manifold and turbo-back, Xede, Vishu's 100 octane tuning. Oh yeah, and some fast shifting. I have the footage. I'll see if I can get it over to my websitean post it.

At the time, the car weighed right around 2980, give or take a few pounds. And yes, it was on 100 octane gas.

I guess the real question would be ... is that in bills or coins?

So do tell how you got 200lbs outta the car.

No: AC / spare tire / tools / lighter exhaust / lighter suspension / lighter seats / rear seats / rear seatbelts / lighter battery / what else?

This is an '05 RS. The rear seats are still in per ESP rules. I have a gokart seat for the passenger seat that weighs 6lbs. Battery weighs 12lbs. No AC and no front seatbelts (I have harneses). I also have a Sparco harnes bar.

RS still weighs approx 3190. That's approx 200lbs you took out. How much does the AC weigh? 100?

Remember that the published "curb weight" is with the car full of fluids.

My '03 (non-RS, non-sunroof) Evo weighed in last year at 3040 lbs, a 223 pound reduction from the published curb weight. That was with about 1/4 tank of gas, lighter wheels, lighter tires, lighter suspension, lighter brake rotors, lighter exhaust, and with removal of the spare tire, tools, all trunk trim and carpet, floor mats, and the back seat.

We're down to 3025 from 3227 in our '03 Evo, still have AC, power windows and door locks, radio. We should end up around 2990 when we're done.

My 03 Evo ESP car last year weighed 2945 in Nationals prep. An SP prepped car could be 2890 or so if you're willing to take the time and spend some money.
