Street Modified update
Just got back from Toledo Pro. Interesting day today was. Tunnell ended up winning by .5 seconds. My car was much better today. 60 foot times were in the low 1.6's. Unfortunately I was getting such a great bite with the increased launch rpms, I redlighted two of my four runs today. ( The two fastest ones )
Fortunately the times I ran on those two runs would have given me the win by about one second. I was living with a best time on the right course of a 32.2, and ran a redlight 30.8, and followed it up with a coned 31.5, either of which would have been enough. I also managed to redlight a 31.3 on the left course. The left redlight was only by .004 seconds, and the right redlight was by .018. The car is awesome in transition, but needs a little work getting the power down coming off of full load corners on throttle. I am thinking that it is possible that my rear diff is toast. Much work to do before nationals to get more weight out, and try to get the power down a bit better. It is really gonna be an awesome competition in SM at the nationals this year.

Nice runs. Sounds like nationals is going to be a hoot.

I know John and Andy. I have definitely learned alot over the past year by watching both of them and picking their brains. I am getting ready to step up to the A3S04. I have the tire but I have to wait for 5Zigen to get some more wheels in stock for me. So far this year I have just been running the Azenis RT-615. Andy (from Showcase) drove my car at an event and said they were about the best street tires he had experienced. I've done OK in SM in the regional events, only lost once - to a Honda in the rain! I was totally shocked!
Anyway, I am looking forward to running the whole CenDiv series and as many ProSolos as I can get to next year, as well as Nationals. Can't wait to go up against some great national level competition to see how far off the pace I am. I've only been running AX for a year now, since I bought the EVO from Andy's dealershp and he talked me into coming to a race. I am absolutely hooked!

Eric, missed you at the Toledo Pro. I was looking forward to see your car since the transformation from ESP. Are you still going to the Cendiv Championship this weekend in Peru?
It was interesting watching Tunnell and Daddio run together. Tunnell was faster in the corners, Daddio through the slaloms. Each had the lead at different points on the course.

Those are some pretty good times for an "ESP" car....
I can say the Evo driveline isn't designed to turn high 1.4 60' times reliably... I have a box full of parts to prove it... Probably launching at 5000 rpm and 30 pounds of boost wasn't such a good idea although it was pretty fun.

- running a smaller rear tire allows me to run a more transition friendly alignment.
Hope that sheds some light on my thinking.

I have my A-Stock 2005 Evo RS set to Zero Toe all around and camber maxed out at -2.0 up front and -1.8 in the rear. Any advice?
Also I am thinking of getting V710s in a 245/40. Do you think that is the right tire/size combo or might my car benefit from a staggered setup like you had experimented with? Currently I just use a little bit of trailing throttle / trail braking to get rotation before the exit.

Currently I am running -2.4 camber front, and toe out 1/16", and rear I am running -1.5 camber, and toed in 1/32". As for the staggered setup, I believe that the acd on the 05's defeat the desired effect. I am currently running 285/30/18 Hoosiers all the way around, and it seems to be working quite well.Mark
