All I need to know is the thread pitch and size and I can have them made to that spec. So yes, stock top hats will and can work.

As for the springs ive seen it done before on an S2000, so I imagine youd just have to remove the stock spring seat and place it on top of the spring collar and place the collar are the ccorrect stock ride height as the rules mandate.

Max Cudich

Awesome. I need to get another set of stock struts and dismantle them and take some measurements. Can you PM me a rough price? Thanks again.

M150,

I'd like to check it out when I get back from topeka, sound like a great set-up. We need one more driver in STU to make 25 to be a class. There's a hot STU Evo (Silencer) offering a codrive - you could do great out there next week.

These will not be legal for stock class unless your willing to weld the spring perches in place at the stock ride height.

They have to be non-height adjustable.

Heres the arrangement that I'm speaking of:

This car won first at nationals for Bstock in 2003 using this set up.

That looks like protest bait, but I am not that familar with the S2000.

anyhow, I would think this would be a better option for stock class, rebuilding some MR bilsteins with double adjustable components...

I have a friend that took 4th at Topeka last year in an S2000. He has Penskes that are height adjustable. He set the ride height to stock height and tightened up the perches. He then put silicone on the threads above and below the perches so anyone could tell if the ride height had been changed by the condition of the silicone. I think he showed this to the tech workers and his competitors. He didn't get protested.

If you can prove that the car was at stock ride height for the whole event, are the shocks still illegal?

To be honest, if I saw someone go through that effort, I would not protest. I doubt it's legal to the letter of the rules, but I would not protest.

Still, I think using this caliber of strut in the stock class is total overkill. might as well put an exhaust on it and compete in SP or STU.

but that's just me.

The way I see it, you have to prepare your car to the extent of the allowed rules if you want to compete at a national level. I can't say my driving is at national level yet, but at least I wouldn't have any excuses if I had these shocks.

If you check out any of the Topeka auto-x champion cars, you'll see some pretty extreme shock setups.

Pricing??

Did you ever get pricing? I may have missed it in the thread, but I did look for it.

Pricing is still in the process of getting worked out, but if you send me a PM with what application and level of "completeness" you wish to recieve the kit in (shocks alone, with camber plate, quick disconnects, etc etc) I could give you a pretty good idea on pricing.

These are a very good shock for the driver who wants the best in handling capabilitys. The Porsche GT2 cars running in Le Mans back in 1998 were running these... Did I mention they won Le Mans OVERALL that year? lol. If I still had my evo I'd jump on this. Anyone serious about roadcoursing or autocrossing their car should seriously consider these shocks. Maybe if I get another evo I'll hit you up Max
