Jason, when you use toe plates, how do you make sure that the front wheels are in line with the rear wheels with the wheel centered? Do you just make sure to turn each side the same amount?

First off I had the car aligned professionally to make sure I was good side to side and front to rear. Then when I go to make my change from street to race after my camber change, I first make sure the steering wheel is straight, then I adjust each side by the exact same amount. I use a mark on the lower control arm and on the inner fender and count the amount of wrench turns I make. In my case with my little 14mm wrench, it's four turns each side from where I touch the lower control arm to where I touch the fender liner. This four turns comes from trial and error and your results may vary.

They mount the same way but with a simpler method. The new plate replaces the standard plate, and the dimensions fit the Ohlin's bearing. 30% thicker material than Cusco plates which can deform under hard use. As far as the complete kit, there are typically 2 standard shaft diameters, so it would use either a thin or thick sleeved nut. I don't know which one fits the Ohlins.

Rick have you changed your plate design? The Ground Control plates mount above the shock tower. Last I checked your plates mounted below.

I thought the GC plates could mount below also.

Saw pics of you last weekend in the S2K (sideways). When is the Evo coming out again?

Well I decided to add a new front APR lip on the car which of course will have "no significant aerodynamic function at Solo speeds".

I took a bunch of pics and did a quick install write up: http://vorshlag.smugmug.com/gallery/3308277

Overall I'm pretty happy with it and hopefully I won't hit any cones with it.

I'm not even sure if that "lip" counts under the wing/splitter max area rule. Jason, I could have set you up better than those local Vorshag over-flared fender bimmer guys.

HAHA! That's the same thoughts I had after I got it on. Oh well, we'll find out this weekend after the SW Divisonal. It's still gotta be better that Geoff's razer-blade cone slicer of a splitter. But hey, if you just cut the top off the cone and the base stays in the box, it's not a penalty.

And congrats to Patrick and Jason for getting mentioned in Sportscar and especially to Corey for getting picked "Who will win." Now it's up to the rest of us to prove that "Sportscar was Wrong"

Corey already knows he's not going to win with his "stock" motor.

He also has a couple contenders that will give him a hard time at the Pro Solo.

5 weeks and counting..........

Corey will be tough to beat this year. I watched him in several events this year and he is just getting faster and faster; and with just cat back he didn't have any trouble at ProSolo in DC. Just ask Davemac and Racemike - he gives all of the fast STU guys a handfull... My money is on Corey.

Sure he does. He can just protest all the non-stock emissions illegal cars.

Just read the first post for the first time in a while. Nice work Dave!

I'd suggest adding Jake Diehl to the list of custom ECU tuners. He recently did mine and I'm thrilled with it. Not to mention he tuned the Subby that won STU the last two years.
