That's good to know. I don't know why people would pay the same money for CF hoods that weigh more than stock when they could get ones that weigh 10lbs less.

I have no opinion on seats. My stockers work great for me.

A significant component of the price of a hood is also shipping, which is not cheap on a Robispec hood if you live across the country.

So Jarrod, I guess your horsepower worries are behind you now.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=289215 edited : It appears the thread has been removed that this link went to. So I am guessing that Jarrod didn't want the info released. Sorry.

Looks like it should be potent. That looks like what mine would do on c16. I don't think it is actually usable however. that midrange torque should be interesting to say the least.

Mark

We'll see how it goes. We kept the stock intake, stock ECU and stock recirculated BOV on this car, so hopefully the on/off throttle modulation at those high power levels will be alot smoother than with my last car. With the silver car when you let off the gas and the Tial opened it was so drastic - it felt like engine braking on a high compression N/A car.

I think we'll have to roll on the throttle slower coming out of corners and wait until we are pointed pretty straight to go full throttle. We'll see how the diffs hold up to the abuse!

anyone see the new sportscar magazine?? I quote " If the evo holds together, mark daddio should add a street modified title to his impressive resume. Vic Sias will give the M3 contingent a good shot at continuing its perfect record in the class, but daddio will prove to be too much to overcome" thats awsome

I read that too! Congrats Mark!

And what do they mean "if the car holds together"?? This isn't Stemler's EVO !!

Here is a copy of a post I made in another thread:

Thought it was time to throw out a little update on the progression of our season.

It's been quite a process, as it seems that at every other event we've done something new with the car and had to figure out what tweeks to make to optimize the setup. Added the splitter, had to readjust. Switched to Hoosiers, had to readjust. Added the wing, had to readjust, etc. . .

We've been battling it out all summer with pretty much an untuned car on stock boost and pump gas trying to see just how far we could get with handling alone. Well, I'm happy to say -- It's Power Time!

After a long summer with an underpowered car I finally got around to taking the car in to Tym Switzer to have the race gas tune done. All I can say is HOLY CRAP! The car felt good and strong before on Jester's email reflash running pump gas and stock boost. I really didn't expect to see this big of improvement! Just by switching to race gas, cranking the boost and letting Tym work his tuning magic the car gained 35% more HP and a whopping 52% more TQ. The following graph shows a comparison of the pump gas power curve vs. the new race gas power
curve.

As you can see, while peak HP only gained 35%, midrange HP is up well over 50% compared to the pump gas/stock boost numbers. It should be a handful!

vic was kind of screwed by the changes in the allowable wing size this year. I haven't seen him much at the local events, but I believe that he has sorted this issue out.

so we shall see how long the BMW dominance continues..

Yeah, as far as I am concerned, that and 99 cents will get you a cup of coffee. It is nice to be mentioned, but those picks are worthless. Any one, on any day. That is how I look at it. If someone shows up at nationals, thinking it is already theirs, they will most assuredly lose. All I can do is prepare and drive my best, if that gets it done then so be it.

8 square feet is still a HUGE wing. Mine is huge and it's only around 6', so I could add a second element to it and probably get 50% more downforce than we are making now. But, the EVO doesn't need that much.

agreed.. but the BMW needs it which is the only important fact we need to remember here.

It doesn't need a big rear wing, it needs AWD!!!

Come to think of it, doesn't BMW make an AWD version of their 3-series?? I wonder why no one has tried supercharging one of those in SM, or taking the driveline from one of them and throwing it into a lighter bodied 3-series??

way too heavy and the AWD wasn't that reliable from what I have heard (which isn't much)

From what I've heard, the 3-series xi behaves in a similar manner to the VW 4motion (I think that is the correct term). It is used for stability in the car, not application of power.
