I agree, I 've a 04 STI and a 06 Evo MR (Puerto Rico) and they are very similar cars. One oversteers and the other one understeers. My experience with the cars (both T2 cars) is that the STI turns a little better than the Evo, but the Evo has more power and that is a good advantage.

Are you sure you weren't passing the same cars over and over?

I'm just kidding. Some times, some people don't give themselves enough credit for their driving ability and some thinks they're the reincarnated Senna. It might be the combination of you and the car.

Just be safe out there.

At 9/10ths the Evo is the car to have, but once you get to that 10/10ths level (of what the car is capable of) they are pretty much dead even with the power advantage going to the Evo and the Handling advantage going to the STI.

I've driven them back to back (I owned both at the same time) and I have to say that the STI is as good as the Evo in handling ability. I did have sways, bushings, tophats, etc on my STI versus stock suspension Evo.

Everyone who has said that the STI is equal to the Evo in handling capability always has the caveat that their STI doesnt have a stock suspension setup, whether it's alignment or bushings. Me, I'm not a great driver, just an average Joe, and in regards to an average Joe put in both cars then the answer is Yes the Evo is "that much better" than a STI.

when it comes down to the track

if it sits low, and has good tires, it has potential

uh...

They have rules set that you're only allowed to pass on the front and back very long straight portions of the track.

I wouldn't endanger people's lives by acting like an ***.

Thanks though.

It was your driving or the other cars lack off. If a M coupe was keeping up in the wet I would have to guess many other drivers were newbies or being very safe. In the wet the evo/sti should own all but a pro driver in an M. Glad you had fun.

There was a new $4k tax on AWD vehicles a few years back.
