LH got what was coming to him at that start. thats the second race in a row hes tried passing people on the outside in turn 1 at the start. when clearly they had the line and position in front of him. massa got the short end of the stick when LH took a line that absolutely wouldn't have worked, but sense he hit massa, he went off track and missed the turn completely (thus clearly putting him in front of massa). this race he tried the same thing with FA, who in turn pushed him off track the way it should have been done at monza.

I agree that both the Monza and Spa maneuvers on the outside of the first turns had little or no chance of success. I half admire LH for trying those ballsy moves and not makin big contact or taking anyone immediately out in the process, but he should not whine when the door gets slammed. One thing that precipitated both of these "incidents" is the now apparently acceptable practice of driving immediately across the track at the start (thanks Schumi).

One thing that occurs to me is the indefensible position by RD and Team McClaren. At Spa, LH had slightly more fuel on board. Consequently, had he gotten ahead of FA at the start, he would have only held him up serving no real purpose or benefit to either team car unless the team goal is to have LH be WDC. The relative risk to reward ratio for both team cars involved in such a risky first corner pass would dictate not attempting it. Somewhere/sometime in the last 3 races, these 2 guys are going to come together in an incident that puts one or both out of the race.

Ah, the drama...............

The full transcripts of the WMSC with the arguements from both sides have been posted. Pretty good reading if you have the time.

I would not be suprised if Alonso's car breaks down during a race this year considering the way he's thoroughly pissed off his team. =P

Agreed - great stuff between Massa and Kubica

Almost thought kimi got by kovalinen but not quite. Kimi is 5 points behind alonzo and 17 points behind hammy with two races to go. After today though, i really think LH will secure the driver's title next week.

I stayed up and watched the race last night until 3am EST. Great race. Last lap was fantastic. LH looks to be THE uber-rookie of all time. Amazing year for that young man and F1 fans.
