Pikes Peak or bust!
I'll get back with more details & pics in the next day or two, but we did in fact take the Time Attack AWD win by almost 40 seconds, besting the record set last year by 61 seconds. In PPIHC speak, that's an eternity. The car was almost flawless, with just a few hiccups, but nothing other cars weren't dealing with either. The hot weather had dry-slicked the road, and it was in worse condition than last year, as evidenced by Monster's time drop of 17 or 18 seconds. Based on our practice times, we were expecting a better time, but we can't argue with a class win!
It also looks like we finished 5th overall, behind perennial top spot takers, Leonard & Clint Vahsholtz, Paul Dallenbach, and Nobuhiro Tajima.
That was a great feeling, but was quickly washed away when we learned that two of our good friends were in a horrific crash just a few turns from the start line. They left the road going 70-90mph and clear cut an 18" diameter tree with the front of their Impreza. Both sustained broken backs and we're hoping they'll pull thru good as new.
Thank god for HANS devices! Remember people, good safety equipment saves lives, don't scrimp in that area of your car builds...ever!!!!

Uploading vids all afternoon...some of these take quite a while. These are just raw clips...no editing, no music, just straight off the cameras with lots of engine & transmission noise. Enjoy!

Also, if anyone has any short clips of the car on race day or practice days, I'd love to get my hands on that.
Eric - I'm working on getting you those files...they're pretty large...so I may just burn you a disc since I already need to do that for the PPIHC organizers to use in the TV show.
Thanks,
Dave

Congrats on the run.
I was watching up at 16 mile (Devils Playground) awesome view from up there, could see the whole race. All the EVO's took the corner at Devils Playground beautifully.
I would recommend to anyone who is in the area to come see this, you will not be disappointed. Awesome experience that you will never get anywhere else.
I live down here in Colorado Springs, if you guys ever need any help with anything let me know, really trying to get involved with these races.
Before he rolled the EVO he was doing really good and was taking the corners like an all-star.
Congrats and seriously any help that you guys need hit me up.

I'm going to need to figure out where to break the video up and will try to get the full mountain up later today.
