I would also recommend having your TC sent out for the install and have it checked out (gears checked for any signs of compaction or cracking).

Jon sold me the OEM front LSD and gave me instructions for installing it without having to remove the transfer case from the car. It's a really easy install, since the diff is a completely enclosed cartridge. No shimming necessary. All the installer has to do is open up the transfer case, not remove it. Dent Sport Garage here in Boston did it for me while I waited -- only took a couple of hours, and the job was flawless. The diff made a big "diff" in my course times, and there's no driveability issue on the street.

That being said, if you want to have your TC checked out anyway, you might as well send it to Jon or Shep, I'm just saying you don't need to, for a simple front diff installation.

I was doing a lot of reading last night, and it looks Like I should be able to do the front diff myself. While I was digging around on his (TRE) website, I got really intrigued by his rear diff service. I might be pulling more drivetrain parts off and apart than I could have imagined.

As for the diff, I don't think there is a major functional difference between the OEM RS diff and the Quaife. Haven't heard of anyone grenading an RS diff on SP power levels. This lends me to say buy an RS diff since it is quite a bit cheaper than the Quaife. Now worries about driveability with either, they are seamless on the street.

John
I too have a ProLite, difficult at first to launch on but I still think it is so much better than stock. (Subaru application but I'd expect similar quality for the Mitsu crew)

Im running into the same issues. Im trying to go through my local dealer, but Im stuck needing either a specific part number, or a VIN for a car that came factory with the LSD. If someone on here can help me out (with either the part# or VIN#) I can try to make this info available for all.

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the front LSD, and the lightweight flywheel. Im going to have the pressure plate and disc rebuilt so I'll see how things go there. I guess I have some changes to get used to.

Only that Tom was shining a flashlight down into the spark plug holes and said that it looked like something had been bouncing around in there...

I was under the impression that these motors should be fine for autox considering the HP we make. Assuming a moderate tune at least.

I agree, we shouldn't be having any problems. Our inital guess is fueling related. Unfortunately we weren't logging any engine parameters so at this point it's only a guess. Haven't had a chance to get into it and inspect yet.
