2008 BSP Discussion
Justin,
If you don't mind me asking what width rpf1 are you running? and what did they cost you? and how much do the wheels alone weigh?
I know my 5zigens in 18x9.5 are 22lbs each.
John
forgot to mention Dan and I will have 2 lipstick cams for the car this year, just need a way to intergrate 2 videos or inlays, anyone know of some software out there?

Where can I find a list of Tour and Pro events in, or a reasonable drive from the NYC area?
What is reasonable? In some parts of the country (like here in NM) 1000 miles each way is "reasonable". Hell, "local" events are often 300 miles away.
Then again, our region is about the size of all of new england.

I cant find the post, but I thought I read earlier in this post that some people were setting their camber plates to full negative, and then adjusting from there. Is this common, or even necessary, on a car that is only slightly lowered?

As a very novice autoXer I'd get my clock cleaned but I have to believe it would be a very good learning experience. I'd be running SM though (which really means I'd get my clock cleaned) so I can't help with the BSP body count.
Perry has a very comprehensive site for southern New england all the way to northern mid atlantic. Lost of good links and the best schedule around. These aren't really tours and pros, there are very few in a reasonable drive in the NE. most are regional, which is where you'll probably concentrate your time for a couple years.
John
I think you already talked about it and already sent in a letter to the SEB - if the new SM rules proposal pass you'd have to add in over 100# to go play in SM (if that is an STI, that is. . . )
10.5 - I went bowling last night and forgot to look but don't quote me yet I haven't referenced my little book of stuff yet...
btw - jessica alba is staring at me...I think she wants my body..
mr.hoops - yep I realize that I'd have to add weight to be legal if the bull**** rule goes through..

It's time to start lightening the car for the season.
Step one, of course, is a light-weight battery. Any recommendations? Do I need to also buy a special bracket? I'd love to get a battery that can start my car in the winter, but most important consideration is the weight. I've heard about a 7 lb battery, but I lost the pointer to it.
Also, I assume there is no rule against me removing the wing on my '08 non-RS Evo? The wing was specified as optional, even though all delivered cars had one, to my knowledge.
What's the next biggest bang for the buck? I'm not going to remove the A/C, radio or anything like that, since this is my daily driver. I've already got light-weight Enkei racing wheels.
I'll be putting in new coilovers based on Koni 2812's or 2822's. Are there some good light-weight springs I should be looking at?
I'm at a loss for how to achieve any other significant savings. Except by going on a diet!
