I believe all the TR30 compressor wheels are 5-axis CNC'd; you loose some dimensional control if you cast them. Just a note, that wheel is designed for very high pressure ratios at 'low' flow rates; so basically the WRC operating range. Not sure how well it'll do outside that range. I suppose that you could always swap out compressor wheels with something more suited to the range you're shooting for.

The trim i just the ratio of the areas of the inducer and exducer.

Both the Audi and Peugeot diesel LMP cars use TR30Rs, the AER 2 liters use the TR30R, all with different restrictors. Its a versatile turbo and if you were willing to pay the money, it would be configured to exactly what you needed it for (much like anything in motorsports)
Seems like you guys are saying two different things?

The last one has the "spec" sheet and it says HKS Racing Turbo so who knows what it actually decends from.
Who would someone contact to inquire about having one of these built? Or just sourcing the intake manifold??

Wow. This is in fact the best tech thread I have read today. It combines the tech that I crave and rally history all in one fell swoop. To think it all started becuase we were trying to figure out what the factory was using to calculate safe timing at 8000 rpm and 300 load...lol

No originally me and JB were talking about how the stock timing map was created, since there is no way the stock turbo could have hit 300 load at 8000rpm we figured that they might have used the same turbo as the wrc car (but with out the restrictor) while the thread didn't go to the same place i had in my mind, i have loved every post of this thread!

What is the biggest MHI turbo out there, maybe that is what they used? I figure MHI would make turbos for larger applications such as machinery.

Yeah like Billy said. Its the timing numbers that they have match pretty much what I have found for my car with cams and a Green operating in the HIGH load cels at high rpm...places where the stock (16G-10.5) could never get.
