I would like to know where you get your information from. You seem to be misinformed.
Setrab is a Swedish owned company. Derale is a USA founded company. Setrab manufactured in Sweden/Poland....Derale is Made in the USA. See where I'm going with this??

my other thought is to run one vertically on the drivers side between the condenser and the intercooler (kidloco has his tranny cooler there), but that would lead to some very long lines.

Sounds like a bad idea. Intercoolers are aluminum, oil coolers(most of them) are steel. Steel + aluminum cannot be welded together as they do not form an alloy.

actually, some of the better oil cooler like setrab or similar are made from aluminum and the mounting bracket are also aluminum. but its still a good idea to weld on a bracket to the IC instead of welding the oil cooler directly to the IC for ease of removing it.

You dont want to add heat spot on the IC, and welds are known to crack. Also you will loose oil cooler and IC a same time if something happens.
Bolt on is a best option.

look pretty similar to me, usually if you see too parts that are identical they are coming from the same supplier

i could be wrong

deraile is 60% the cost of setrab, that i do know

my thoughts are that if ive got myself in a situation on a road course where im losing the intercooler, ill have bigger issues than also losing the oil cooler.

i think i have a greater chance of ripping it off in stock location.

I had an off course and whacked a generator with the oil cooler side of the bumper. It's def in the wrong spot and hanging out there to get taken.. I'm a big fan of the high center mount.

I've also looked into putting a cooler on the water line pre turbo so that I could possibly help the turbo run cooler

Here's my setup:

I moved both the oil cooler, ACD pump, and IC piping because they're in a stupid vulnerable places for a rally car.

We have issues of the radiator not cooling as well with an oil cooler mounted in front of it. It's not bad, but not a perfect solution.

(steeling a picture here...sorry. all credit to Kidloco51)

im starting to think something like this is the best bet/easiest to set up (its his trans cooler, but you get the idea) without measuring im betting i can fit a 25 row (8 inches tall, 16 inches long), and mount it using a basic mount to the front edge of the radiator support.

-anyone have any thoughts on how much air gets slowed by the intercooler?
-what type of role does line length play? if any
