This forum has a lot of misinformation as well, many people say its fine to run an oil delete if you just do occasional pulls on the street.

It's common sense. That's like saying you can run 30psi all day on stock turbo and 91 octane, could you do it ya, but it's retarded advising on that because NOBODY does just "occasional" pulls, and they'll just end up in the shop all the time.

It's probably fine for street driving and drag racing. I didn't use an oil cooler for 1000 miles during my break-in. However, this is the motorsport section. These guys spend 25-30 mins, sometimes more, beating on the car on a track setting. Its not 10 secs down the drag strip and then sit and wait for the next two hours. Our needs for cooling capacity is a lot higher than the a drag car or street car.

You must not run TT then. Its about 3 laps then done! I ran a very strenuous hillclimb without an oil cooler after an accident. Not what i would want to do all the time but it's not the end of the world. The rally guys have been known to run without them too if needed.

TT, Hillclimb, or rally, it still isn't 10 secs or less. I think its necessary to have one.

I ran a few laps at GTA last year without one after one of the cooler lines got burned thru by the exhaust. Not ideal and the car is getting fresh oil before it hits the track simply because temps were probably high.

FWIW, rally guys don't make much HP due to the restrictors, but for those that do run anti-lag, temps on everything can easily be elevated.

Sorry, i was by no means saying that you shouldn't use one. I was just stating that its something that i wouldn't let end my weekend if i didn't have one. A trans cooler would be a good idea also.

I have no condenser, so is the next best place on an ix hanging from the rad support in front of the radiator above the inter cooler? I make 420~ hp and my koyo rad isn't being exercised very hard (from what I see others push for hp.) I only autocross a couple times a month and switched to a 5w-40 for summer.

I want to take my oe cooler off the danger area cause I had an off course and hit a generator last year. The retarded cart drivers requested that a sump be installed at an adjacent water hole to stop runoff . ( stupid cause they never work the course )
