Restrictor options aside from ralliart cover.

Is there a product available for a stock Evo compressor cover to implement a restrictor? Particularly something available in the US. I've searched and only one option came up from a eu site.

Is this for NRS or Rally-America? If so, the restriction has to be within 50mm from the compressor blades and the only way that's going to happen is to machine down the compressor cover.

I bought my restrictor from Station Arnside Garage because I was pressed for time, but Doug Davenport knows the guy that machined the go/no-go restrictor tool they use at Rally-America tech and said he can machine restrictors as well. The bonus is he'll machine the compressor housing as well. Can't remember the exact price but it was pretty reasonable, around what I paid for just the restrictor. There's Davenport Racing link in my sig. I'm sure RumKoTeam (or however you spell it) can do this as well.

Ryan Thompson (Thompson Racing Fabrication) has made restrictors for Evos. He's also great to work with.

I haven't seen that one before, but yeah, it looks like it slips into the intake side of the turbo and you drill holes for the set screws. All the ones I've seen before look like mine, which looks like this:

Here is a 40mm one made for my by allwheelsdrivin out of Oregon.

Just a little tap with a hammer and its pressed in.

and it works great without any modifications to the intake.

I really like that concept. If it were able to be slipped in to a 64mm for a 71 HTA cover just lke that but be the right size to meet open heavy rules..

What turbo is that you are running? And what class?

It's an old school FP green cover.

I used the restrictor for the Mt Washington hillclimb. I believe they had the rally legal ones also. This one had to be custom made because 40mm is not used very often.

What is the extra orfice on your cover robevo? Looks like a turbo speed sensor but the location looks different from what I've seen.

I also have been working on an anti lag set up , and a portion of this is geared towards seeing if I can get my system to work under racing conditions. Ie restrictor

well anti lag should work with restrictors, since that is they purpose to eliminate the turbo lag what the restrictor causing.

what type of ECU are u using? You also need some hardware ect to make it work with the 4g63T. I highly suggest it for you to consult and do a job at RKT motors , this way you will pay it once for the set up.... So as the tuner side of the story. Believe me i have been almost all NE tuners to tune my car properly, and i am not alone...

i have no turbo speed meter so i have no idea what is that.

I'm on stock ecu which they say its impossible, but I'm tinkering nonetheless. Motorsports is in my long term goal, originally I planed to have the car in the trim of power that it would be used with and just do whatever I can with it. That way it's no surprise.

In my experimenting this is where I'm at. I will try the quadruple pipe set up ie wrc 04+ soon I'm just experimenting for now though .. And I'm getting results

I'd like to learn how to tune my car with the restrictor too

I believe AMS Performance has made and installed several for some of the SCCA Evo's they have supported and tuned. You could give them a shout too.

AMS is expensive! They quoted me 400-500. I'm planning on getting one from TRF. Iowa, maybe next time you're there you can let him get some measurements.
