I think another may be leaving the STU ranks here, I may be putting some good (and 2 trick) parts up for sale before long...

Forgive the short reply by phone.. I'm going to focus more on track time, take advantage of nearby road courses, hit all those on my bucket list, enjoy more seat time and something the wife and my new son can come & enjoy watching.

Of course the STAC & SEB helped my decision along over the past 3 years. I'll likely co-drive now and then, but done with the wacky rule-sets, and building a single purpose car for a 60sec run.

Brian is correct. You can play with excel to make some estimates (I would argue the thrust curves on the 350Z are wrong), but putting real drivers in the real prepped cars will give much better data.

Cheers,
Rob

Geoff, I am in Mark's region. PM me with what I should discuss with him.

Been awhile since I played in STU. Getting back into auto crossing now with my son in my cammed Evo in SM, locally for fun.

Have a good time at nationals this year,

Jerry

Mark says he is good to go legality wise.

Have fun,

Hey Geoff! Thanks for the heads up on the protest thing! Its a shame you aren't coming to the Natl's. I wanted to see you whip up on the Z cars. We need you!

As far as potential protests, everything is cool. I guess you didn't hear, but the module in plain sight on my car that one guy mistook as some kind of boost controller turned out to be, get this....only a sending unit for an extra gauge!! All that fuss....man 'o man. It had me freaking, tho!!! It came with the car so I didn't even know what it was, either. It makes perfect sense now, of course, but I was too freaked to make the tie between the two, at the time.

So I took my car to my tuner to find out what it was. Chad at "Modified by K.C." (he has the only AWD dyno in the Mid West and does all the cars around here in Kansas City) At first he laughed that anyone would think the sensor was a boost controller. Then when I told him that it almost go me protested, he got mad. He said even if it WAS a controller that it couldn't control boost. He talked so fast and kept pointing to things that aren't there that would have to be there and this and that. He lost me at "it a FREAKING SENDING UNIT TO YOUR GAUGE!" O.k. o.k, o.k. is all I could get out. Jeeez. So, I'll unhook it for the Pro and Natl's, just to be sure...'cause you are right, I don't want to get protested....so the car is still legit, Geoff.

Yeah, I have 40 points in the Pro. But, we'll see. According to all the results, my car can only do high 1.9s in the 60' while other Evo's that won, easily can do 1.7s..and that only the first 60 feet! Doesn't sound fast, but I will do my best and try hard. Still wish you were coming. How about next year?

Thanks again,
Mark Hill

on that note, FYI i'm using air valves for aquariums so I can turn ON/OFF vacuum readings into my gauge. it might look protestable to the untrained eye

As an outside observer (as I won't be there), personally I don't think you need to do that.

My two cents (and I wasn't there), you now know what you have under your hood. A 3-bar sender is a bit of a red flag and worthy of questioning. From what I've read here earlier not having the answers was probably the bigger issue. Sounds like it's all under control. Good luck at nationals everyone!

Good luck to those going... though it seems with Geoff out, Luster long gone as well as Hale, Shane & many others, it will be a walk for BP, and everyone else can fight for 2nd, likely 1.5-2s off per side is my guesstimate.

Little late to be posting this, but as people are looking into 2015 season... I have made my peace with selling my STU fodder, car either in full trim, or selling it stock and parts separate.

Text 4|9-63|-39|2, email [brianATcrxmotorsportsDOTcom] or PM me anyone with legitimate interest, I can share some staggering weight and power #s. . And I will likely sell of the custom fabricated bits & corresponding tune to an interested party as well.

LOL

I think everyone agrees that BP is the one to beat. But don't think he's going to walk away from the pack
