got the 5 bolts out. how do we get the hub out? axle is loose/can be pushed in

I thread the bolts in a few turns and use a punch to walk it out.

done for the night, started on the fronts and that's about it. saw in another thread you can rent a similar tool as the mitsubishi one from the store, and that plus slide hammer should get it off, though i have a feeling it's just going to break the wheel bearing.

Didn't you say you're putting SSB rear uprights on? If so just pull the upright with the bearing and parking brake still on it. Remove those from the upright after it's off the car, way easier to get access to the rear and wallop it out.

yea. trying to take care with it I guess. do I disconnect the parking brake cable?

I think that bearing was already broken, thats why the guy in the video is replacing it. I had one front bearing that separated like that, but the wheel was already wobbling so I was going to replace both fronts that day. i've never had a hard time removing any of these bearings.
I think its not bad to apply a bit of jack-lift on the flange, turn it half way then lift it a bit. its similar approach to wheels stuck on the hub bores
ayoustin has the best idea though

It's not that hard man. when i remove the axle(s) i actually disconnect control arms/ball joints, except the bottom(trailing arm). i make sure I dont damage the axle boots. if you disassemble once a year no part will ever freeze up :P

fronts came out super easy and assembling the uprights now
ball joints basically slid out didn't even need the separator

Oh dang, I totally forgot about that. Sorry man. When I beefed up the steering arms way back in the day I had to slightly block one of the bolt. Really you just need to have one bolt inserted and you can remove the hub without the steering arm.

no worries assembling off car anyway. very nice parts
rented a slide hammer for the rears

is it a problem if i don't have washers on my front axles behind the axle nut? not sure why i don't have them, they're dss axles


rears came out super fast with the slide hammer
