i'm out of town for a while away from the car - does anyone know/can take a quick measurement on how long the stock cat is? trying to do a mid-muffler fitment and I don't recall. somewhere around 22" or so? It's a standard size for all the aftermarkets that sell test pipes and whatnot.
Oh hell yeah.. I can't wait to put in m ARTEC manifold for the Evo X... The quality of the stainless steel cast is just 100% perfect...
The stock frame X manifold is an excellent piece. We've done 3 of them with the MHI-18k turbo. Made 20-25whp more than typical stock manifold numbers with the 18k (all were 480+ vs the usual ~460), and no loss in spool up.
It's going to fab for new O2 housing/downpipe and LICP this week. So hopefully on the dyno the following week.
Great, fingers crossed. I'm absolutely interested in the spool-up characteristics on the single scroll v-band. Will the wastegate vent through the hood, or dropping it back down?

If u scroll up slightly i just put my dyno chart up of a G30-900. 770 will spool up probably 500rpm sooner but make slightly less power
its has 400Nm (approx 300wtq) at 4400ish. It's a dynapak and those notoriously read high. The G30-900 is a turbine flow limited turbo, very mismatched wheel sizing. Based on how much boost I've previously made 615whp with a g30-770 where we ran out of injector, I think my setup will spool faster and make similar power to Brad's. Mine will also be on a dynojet.

Ive run on numerous dyno's and its always been between 505 - 510kw. This dyno is known to read a little low if anything.
It comes down to what TCF people use. People like to inflate their TCF to make the power figures look better than they are.

Maybe in upside down land it's different ( :P ) but in the US dynapak's tend to read 5-10% high and their spool characteristics don't ever seem to match a street data log.

Yea like i said its all down to the tuner and how he sets the correction factor up on the dyno. Lots of people put in cheeky TCF's to get their numbers slightly higher so they look better than they are. which is what your noticing. Im not sure if its possible to fiddle with a dynojet.
But what your seeing is tuners who have dynapaks inflating their numbers rather than the dyno itself reading high. Its something i always check when they give me a dyno chart to confirm that its not inflated
This is NOT my car, but another one we've built here at the shop. And I'm excited to finally have real results with this turbo on a dyno jet dyno and plenty of fuel system. This literally ALL OF IT, an additional 15% (in 5% increments) wastegate duty cycle didn't make more boost or power. It doesn't layover hard like its has back pressure, so I think this all the compressor flows. This was 30 psi ramped to 32 out the top. Didn't want to make more torque on the Exedy twin.
