So I got the car all together for Packwood tour with the splitter now. But now Im distracted trying to figure out why my cold start idle just stopped working. It actually happened down in crows where we hot lapped the car like 18 runs on a practice course with 3 of us. On the next day it just stopped working. The FPS connector lost a clip (or I missed it) and it was off. But plugging back in hasnt fixed it since even now with it clipped in place. Wonder if it being loose could have fried it internally?
Just checked the IAC, it does its clicky bits when pulled though moved very little. Also all coils show 33ohm.
Idle just seems to suck for first minute and then things seem to settle.
Maybe I'll bypass the FPS and see if anything changes tomorrow when I start to narrow that down.
so with the car off, different story - it uses up i'm assuming the vacuum the first press, then it's firm - brakes are normal then? cuz it's so soft (above) with car on
Yea that's normal. The first couple pumps use up the remaining vacuum. If there was a hydraulic the pedal would be spongy with the car off. Your vid of the car running isn't far off from how my pedal behaves when I'm the car is running and not moving.

I had this in two cases. Case one was my tuner, he kept telling me that the car has to get hot or drive a bit in order for it to settle on 14.7 afr, it would run in the 11-12's until then, another tuner fixed that issue. The second was when a ground came loose either on the ECU or on a neighbor circuit and the car would randomly idle rough and the afr would shoot up to the 17's, after 3-4 minutes it would come back and settle, round and round it went until that ground was fixed.

This seems a little different than both those cases but DSMs/Evos seem to have several odd things that can cause a bad idle. Mine is only for the first minute or so and literally started over night from a perfect start for years regardless of temp to now doing this. Thats why I think its potentially the FPS that I know had the connector pop off and something that only really has an effect the first minute or two of starting.
I bypassed it last night, about to go start it up and see if its the same or worse.
Nothing big but I've been wanting to save my bottom cover from total uselessness. I made it one piece, added grommets on the holes and gave it some backbone for when some cone comes along again. Still trying to figure out how to give it a bit more rigidity
small one here, but the EGR block off plate is on! Thanks for the help - even with that I initially took off the wrrong piece, some tri pronged thing just above it. The bolts were covered by hoses but got to it with relative ease. I probably used too much exhaust pipe sealant, hope it didn't squish through and break off into the intake #paranoia
it is def very stealth though, happy with the part
Tearing down my trans is one of the only things I havent had the guts to do. Anything else is NBD but the trans seems to have so many little bit I wouldnt even know if it got lost.
