Well seeing as the design is exactly the same, and it came out 2 years after the CAE, I'd call it a copy. Quality isn't lacking on the IRP. You'll be hard pressed to change the shift knob but you might like it. I'd still buy a Coolerworx over the IRP but that's just my preference: https://www.coolerworx.com/product/c...-7-8-9-5-gear/

Looks like IRP is the smallest at the top so will require less trimming of the center console than the others.

I suppose it depends on your preferences. It's about about the size of an egg. And the the bottom is fairly tapered. It's not my favorite design. Both the CAE and Coolerworx have interchangeable knobs or you can always have a custom knob made for them too.

Knob Thread pitch?

Speaking of interchanging shift knobs. Does anyone know if the cae shifter has the same or different thread pitch for the knob compared to the stock evo x/drop in (works) shifter? If it’s the same, then it makes it that much more appealing as I purchased a knob I really like..

The threads are M12x1.75. If the shift knob you bought is made of metal it could be drilled larger and tapped for those threads pretty easily. I made a new knob for my CAE.

Shoot them an email and see if they have any US distributors.

Can’t go into reverse

Hi guys. Did any of you have issues getting the car into reverse when installing the cae shifter. I messed around with it for awhile and tried making adjustments. I tried to follow the directions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So when I try to go to reverse these two hit nit allowing it in. I put the factory shifter back in now issues.

Well if it's just dangling without the cables attached then ya it'll hit lol. You'll need to get it re-attached and adjusted per the instructions is all. Here's what mine looks like:

STATIC

PIN clearance when pushing RIGHT but before going DOWN

Bottom ARM position when left but before in gear

Pulled back into reverse gear.

Shifter Adjustments

There are multiple sets of holes on the shifter that when switched around change the characteristics of the shifting itself. I was hoping if anyone can tell me what specific adjustments are made when interchanging these. The circled areas are what I’m referring to. I have the IRP one but it should be identical to CAE which is why I ask. TIA

No issues with mine to date and my only regret is not buying it sooner :P

I've let a handful of people drive my car now on the street and track to try it out and everyone is blown away at what a difference it makes!
