I hooked up a pressure gauge to the cover and did some 29psi pulls on the street and never had the needle budge.
Hmm...that sounds like my experience with the stock drivers side vent off the valve cover (although my engine has only 26k miles and about 12k of that on these pistons). Maybe I don't need to do anything more and those with crankcase issues either have loose engines or much higher boost?

I also get that running the catch can to a vacuum source often results in the oil going right into that vacuum source rather than being "caught." So, if I run a VTA can off the driver's side, how do I know if it's working sufficiently? I've run a drivers side can in the past with a line to my intake and all I ever found in the can was an oily film. I also found an oily film in my intake tube pre-turbo. I can ditch the line to the intake and just run it VTA, but I doubt it's going to catch very much. Is it worth it to open up the stock drivers side port for running 25-30 psi? It's a lot of work if not necessary. I did used to just run a filter on the side of the valve cover and it got oily over time, but I certainly didn't have oil spraying everywhere. So, I'm not quite sure which way to go. I think VTA off the drivers side with the stock port, or VTA off the drivers side with an enlarged port, if it's really worth the effort. And if you are enlarging the drivers side port, is it worth it to drill a second drivers side port on the rear of the drivers side too?

TIA.
No, do not add a second driver side port on the rear of the cover, that pushes just as much oil out as messing with the PCV port.

For road race, the stock PCV, and then 10an out of the front driver side port is fine. I run mine recirculated and it doesn't get too much oil in the intake. The car I put together with the G30-770 is VTA off that driver side port and it's fine as well. Turbo doesn't leak oil, and it doesn't push the dip stick out either (no spring or anything "holding" the dip stick).

I run a similar setup as Sean, factory rear setup and enlarged side port with a 10AN fitting. When I had both ports factory I would pop my dipstick on cold days until I zip tied it down.

After enlarging the side port I've had zero issues, no more popped dipstick. Catch can catches a fair bit but my tune was fairly fuel happy and I ran on E85 which tends to have more crappy blowby. I recirced my catch can pre turbo before but now it will be VTA.

Crap, I'm starting to experience the same issue on the V2 can purchased a couple months ago. Its pushing oil from the balance shaft port into the can. I don't know if it matters or not but I still have my balance shafts.
