I tried 285/18 RT660s on track sprints & time trials today. I like them. got so much more confidence thru long sweepers. Since last TT event, I got a slight brake upgrade(still brake-checking tho), my (autox)suspension is way over sprung this time ugh but I beat my initial PB by 5secs

Falkens seem to be okay for casual track days, but I need something a bit more aggressive.

After all the conversation and a lot of thinking, it looks like NT-01s are still the way to go until I get to a point where I need to shave a few tenths for a new PB -or- get good enough that a slightly-faster tire is worth it.
Other than that, maybe one day I'll try some Hoosiers just for the fun of it

RT-660s are stickier and shorter lived than NT01s.

I ran RT660s on my Camaro today in 90 degree heat at an autocross. I liked them. They didn't get greasy unless I let the pressures get too high and it was easy to keep them on the edge.

Maybe, they just don't seem to be as fast as other options from what users are telling me.
Just their opinions, of course. I haven't tried them, based on their reviews.

There are faster 200tw tires, but I though you were thinking they were slower than Nittos.

From what I'm told, yes. I'll have to research lap times.

If the Falkens are that good, I don't understand why nobody is using them. It' the opposite of what I see with R888s.

Wild guess is maybe your tracks are far and mostly trailered cars go there(?) Maybe not attracting autocrossers? 200tw street tire/car battles is kinda the culture around me. Nobody gunning for top-dog-of-the-day runs Toyos. .

Everyone I know doing for records and PBs are on A052, Hoosier, or GY SC3R, depending on the car. Even Nakang is getting some attention.
hm....

oh sure yeah the guys I'm working myself up to are on fresh A052s and Hoosiers. And aero! While I know I am leaving some time on the table I won't get the best tire. That would be a waste of energy towing/changing tires. Unless it's a title event or when you know the tires are holding you back then 'bring it'. Otherwise, I'd arrive and drive with the 'training/testing' tires

Seems like a lot of the NASA guys are (finally) attempting to build around the RR's because they can take the heat. So it's just a matter of finding out how to make them fast since they already last.
