Modern Tire Options
I'll say it here too lol. RT660s work very well. The only 200TW tire that's faster is an A052 and they're way more expensive and don't last nearly as long. The Nankang CRS seems to be mostly an imitation of the A052 with some minor characteristic differences and a cheaper price.
I got 2 sets of take of 660s from a friend who's on a WRL team that runs some M2s. I need to ask him specifics but they're using them for 6-8 hour races, I just don't know if they're getting an entire race out of a set of tires or if they're doing a tire change when they change drivers.
Gridlife guys run them almost exclusively too. It's a spec tire for 2 classes but even in the classes where other tires are allowed the majority of them still use the 660. They've been fantastic on both my Fit and Civic and they really only fall off if they're overdriven for too long. They let go pretty progressively too, it's easy to catch the car when they do. If the tires on the Civic were new when I got it they'd make it through just about my entire season (4 2-3 day events and 3-4 single open track days).

Maybe I'll give them a try, depending on price. I'm on my second year on the same NT01s built in 2019. I just keep going faster and faster. Last time out, I set a new PB by 2sec. This is the first time I've worn NT01s to the wear bars. I've always ditched them at the end of the year, for being too old. Oops.
Looks like I was premature. They get faster as they wear, it would seem. Less squirm too, I feel.
But, yeah. If the falkens are cheap enough, I'd give them a shot. No harm in it.

I haven't said they're cheap. No good tire is cheap. But they are considerably cheaper than A052s.
FWIW if you're just doing DEs then something like an NT01 or an RC1 would make the most sense. Actually I just looked, since when did NT01s get so expensive? The 265 is almost $400/tire, jeez. The RC1 is about $90 less per tire. RT660 265 is about over $100 less per tire. RS4 is about the same as the RT660. The Cooper RS3R seems to be the ultimate bang for your buck on performance/$ though, 265 is $235/tire. It's more used as an enduro tire but still has pretty solid grip.
My choice for DEs would either be the RC1 or RS3R.

Get a small race trailer to pull behind your car or get a roof rack to put tires on. When it comes to tires, you'll never be able to have you cake and eat it too.

If I end up doing that, I will just go straight to 100tw and below.
I have this tire trailer but I kinda lose sleep thinking it could get stolen on the hotel parking lot or it getting hit at intersections. 4 295s in the backseat area is the way I roll now. put these autox springs to work lol
