You can always add a spacer to get effective less offset but you cant add offset later. +35-40mm on a 10-10.5" wheel is about what you need in the rear to push the inner clearance.

2 spokes are cracked. It just left the dyno but it had cooling system issues so the tuner was driving it around to diagnose it. Probably hit a pothole somewhere

That's a pretty wild location and way for them to crack

I don’t think a pothole would cause a crack like that without also damaging the lip/barrel. That looks like it from side loading.

We've come to determine, at the end of the day these flexygrams are basically disposable. The tesla set I have are going in the trash bin when Im done with them.

i have 3 sets but I'll need to buy 1 replacement wheel for now since paint is still good on these. the low mile CSF radiator (oe like) split at the bottom, also disposable (some sign of head gasket leak)

I would also expect some distortion of the barrel with a pothole impact strong enough to break spokes.

Though it's not impossible to break spokes like that from vertical impact forces. The upper spokes are in tension, so a sharp vertical impact could (in theory) cause a fracture like that. I have a hard time imagining that happening without also damaging the barrel, though.

no signs of contact on the sides of the tire and no dent on the barrel. the tires on these are too worn for competition so I havent autox'd on them for maybe 2 years.
whats the alternative 18x11 et40 out there?

Apex has some nice 18x11 wheels in 5x114.3 with high offsets.

They're drilled for M14 studs, though. Some people don't like running M14 wheels with M12 lug nuts. If I went that route I'd make sure to get lug nuts that have plenty of seating area.

check out the ridiculous stretch on these 295/30 Conti Extreme Contact 02 on an 18x11
It might work for folks struggling to fit 295 RE71RS'
too bad its not available in 315s

Tire Rack does a good job of measuring section width and tread width for each tire.

That different between section width and tread width is massive.

For comparison, the A052 section width is about the same (11.8") but the tread width is 0.7" larger at 11" (295/30R18 for both)

I dont think those are Tirerack's measurements i have 295/30 RE71RS which is almost square with the 18x11 wheels. according to the numbers its only 0.3" wider thread width. these 295 ECS02s has atleast 1" less thread width
