A Work in Progress

Well I feel I finally have my car in presentable condition. After several months of work, parts and time.... I wanted to share some pics to show off COBB Tunings work and TRADE SECRETS paint work.

This week more parts will arive, a MAP tubular exhaust manifold, AMS widemouth downpipe, and Blitz intake manifold. I hoping that with a detailed custom tune from Calvin at COBB I will hit 380 HP and 410 TQ on the stock turbo. Im currently at 353 and 390. This will pave the way for a large turbo.

Anyway.... on with the pics.

Looking awesome! I'd vote for some nice headwork to go with that to make sure you really get that awesome flow that you're obviously looking for, but there's no democracy in the world of cars (and it's not my money either haha). It'll be stupid fast either way .

Does anyone know of a place that does precision head work? I might be interested in bigger valves and some serious porting work. I would only want to use someplace with a flow bench.

I think MAP flowbenched their VIII/IX ported heads (I'm certain they did the intake manifolds at least). The X head already flows really well compared to older Evos, but if you're having the timing chain and cams/valve springs ripped apart anyway...

That's what I'm talkin' about.

No idea on the referal, but as Kracka said, you can't go too far wrong with MAP. Seems like other people on the forums have seen nice gains from some good headwork, especially on aftermarket turbos, which is where you're going eventually.

our machine shop has a flow bench, and we have tested many different heads (all the major shops ported heads anyway). we offer porting work through them if your interested.

were actually doing a big valve X head in the next week.

Like Kracka, I would trust MAP to do that.

Any chance we can get you to post all the results you've compiled?

unfortunately no, if someone is interested in a head i'd gladly show the results (and i do). but i don't like to hand it out because it was very expensive to compile.

I didn't realize you were already over 350 whp until I saw the dyno day video from Cobb in another thread. Looking good. Congrats on the gains so far and keep the updates coming! Who are you considering for the turbo?

Car looks great man. I need a ride in it once you get everything done so I can get an idea of what the SE will feel like one day.
