Care to elaborate on the reason why they are refusing to issue a refund or replacement?

elaboration.............

basically they are saying i signed for the box so therefore i accepted the part in satisfactory condition..... NO ONE OPENS THE BOX IN FRONT OF THE DELIVERYMAN!!!! seriously they expected me to say no delivery man stand there while i open this box and inspect the part you are not allowed to leave until i do so and see that the box is complete and undamaged. ( and by the way i was at work so i had a family memeber sign for the box since the deliveryman would NOT schedule a time when i could be home)....

"
Unfortunately the best that can be done at this point is we are having our distributor file a claim with the shipping company to see if they will credit for it. However they claim that there is almost zero chance they will do anything from their experience in the past when the customer signs when it is received saying everything was received in good condition which is what you did. The best thing that we can do to help you out here and get you a replacement is send you one at our cost but we can not cover the cost of a replacement at this point. If however the company comes back and tells me the claim was approved then we will be able to replace the item for you.

Our cost for the item is $382.80 + $155 Freight charge = $537.80. Unfortunately at this time this is the best I can do for you and I apologize. The claim will be filed with the shipping company and once they respond I will let you know."

so MAP's policy is apparently "we take your money and TOO bad if anything goes wrong" as it says right on their terms and conditions.

"
15. Merchandise Sold on or through the Website. MAP does not make any warranties with respect to any of the merchandise, products and/or services featured, mentioned or sold on or through the Website, whether now exiting or in the future. You agree that MAP is not responsible, and shall have no liability to you, with respect to merchandise, products and/or services featured, mentioned, sold or distributed on or through the Website.

16. Shipping and Handling. MAP is not responsible for any Products lost or damaged during the shipping process.

17. Return Policy. All return requests must be made within thirty (30) days of the date of purchase with documentation related to said purchase as requested by MAP in its sole discretion. Absolutely no credits or refunds are available for electronic Products, custom Products or Products modified in any way at your request. MAP reserves the right to charge you a restocking fee of up to twenty-five percent (25%) of the purchase price of any Product. Accepted returns will not receive a refund for the value of the initial outbound shipment of their item."

last note.... this answer comes 22 days after i filed the claim on the MAP site for the damaged part 30 minutes after it was delivered.

I've already been involved guys, his Seibon part was apparently damaged in shipping, but the issue was not brought to the attention of the freight company at the time of delivery (I believe there is an actual area to sign noting that it was damaged upon delivery). That effectively releases them of all liability in the matter and we have no other means of recourse. What would you do if you were me in this scenario?

it seems like anything from seibon is half broken anyways.

my guess is this is a drop ship part, i doubt map ever had the product or shipped it. have to fight the shipper.

I can understand that, and for typical Fedex / UPS shipments we still have a leg to stand on after the fact. This was a freight shipment and the requirements for claims are much more stringent. I'll see if I can't get a copy of the bill of lading so you can see what I mean.

this would not be such a big deal to me if the part wasn't so freaking expensive...

what i would have you do MAP is have items you sell IN STOCK or shipped to YOU and then the customer..

now i know that would be impossible for you and you would have to warehouse it all and blah and blah....

the fact remains you (MAP) sold the part to me.. not seibon... you should be responsible for your customer not seibon... i made a large order... over $2K not one single part or piece shipped from your company, every item was "drop shipped". most items showed up unharmed and i am happy with this. but the biggest most expensive part shows up nearly in half. and then you want me to just buy another?????

i want a refund.. i want a replacement part.... i will gladly ship the broken one to you so you can ship it to siebon and continue the circle of BS...

the claim was made 30 minutes after the part arrived...
in the pictures submitted with the claim you can see the part sitting on the packing materials..

i am but one of many customers you have
but you are about to loose this one (and anyone who asks me will get an honest review)

i am pissed as can be right now.. as i calm down i might be more reasonable... we shall see
