Here is a good article writen by the actual EVO engineers about the CD, and downforce. They do not however talk about actual downforce with or without the wing, in real numbers. I would love to see some real numbers abbout how much downforce the EVO wing actually produces. I do however find it funny that people that remove thier fog lights think they are flowing more air... wrong. less air because the air guides are now removed. Unless of course you replace with some different engineered airguides.

Here you go:

Aero kit front lip: @100km/hr f df +6kg, r df -2kg, cd -1.3%
Aero skits: cd -.8%
Aero rear bumper extensions: cd -.3%
SSS Wing w/ gurney flap: @100km/hr f df -1kg, r df +5kg, @180km/hr f df -4kg, r df +16kg

The PDF is too large for me to attach to the message. If anyone wants a copy, send me a PM, with your email address, and I'll shoot it over. The above came from the MY2008 JDM Accessories Catalog.

So it didn't look like ***...my wife told me she wouldn't ride in my car anymore if I get "shark fins".

The X didn't need it with the new spoiler- the VG was a band-aid to cover up for the fact that the spoiler on the CT9A was not really good at its job. The split-level design of the X spoiler addresses the fact that the air coming off the back of the car "sits" at different levels depending on if it's coming off the top of the cabin (higher) or sides (lower). The SSS wing addresses both areas.

Two PDFs added to the above post.

Thanks Mathew. Awesome info. I didn't think the Evo wing added 200 lbs of down-force. I knew that had to be too much.

I'm shocked the SSS wing only adds 16kg downforce. It's worthless!

zzzzzzzz... Update:

So I called up Don Herring regarding that SE they had, with money ready to get. They had someone looking at it but didn't look like they were going to buy it, so I was just gonna wait until that guy left before I went up there to do the deal. I get there at 5:30 today, only hear they had actually purchased it, which ofcourse leaves me SOL and back to shopping.

I'm not in the market to get a $40k MR and I don't think with what I want it suits me, meaning I'll need to keep looking for another SE or just man up and get a GSR, but again I'm not super good at manuals yet.

So far I've come across a 2008 GG EVOX GSR with 14.6k miles on it for $28,888 somewhere else and I thought this was a super good deal. Hmmmmmm...

Just tell Don exactly what you want, put some money down so he knows you're actually serious (you've been kicking tires for months, prove to him you're actually ready now), and I'm sure he'll get you exactly what you want just like he did for me.

I wish I had gone to Don.

Lewisville was the only one at the time in the USA that had access to a fully loaded GG ready to go. I hate going to Lewisville for anything now, they gave me crap about having a TBE when that was the only mod I had other than a UICP.

Hell, Don even warrantied your transfer case didn't he?
