finally pulled the trigger and bought an Evo
I guess you must got a lemon for that A3. The German made cars are normally very reliable as I still have my A4 and EVO, of course.

I didn't have any major problems with the A3, just several little things: sun visor broke, screen below the oil fill cap came loose and tried to jam itself into the valvetrain, dealer cross threaded the oil drain plug, no safe jack points under the car, no real cargo space despite being a wagon, nobody races the car, oil and filter cost 2x as much... But what really pissed me off most was how hostile the car and dealer were if you wanted to work on the car yourself.
Did you bring it to Boardwalk Audi in Plano or somewhere else?
