Bad transfer Case???

My car is making a weird noise or whine at any speed/gear. I've searched the forums to see if someone is having the same issues and I've come up with that my transfer case may be bad. Ive taken my car to the dealership twice and they say its totally normal. But it never use to do that. I own a 2014 evo x gsr with 12,800 miles never launched or tracked the car, any input would be helpful. Ive been debating on taking it to Don herring mitsu I've taken my car where I purchased it but no luck so maybe at don they can be more helpful?

Take it to Don Herring in Irving. They replaced my 2010 X xfer case under warranty at 13k miles due to being over-filled with fluid from the factory; that's the first thing they should check (you want them to do it so everything is documented for warranty claim purposes).

My car is loud and whiny too. Pretty much all the time. My car just hit 10k miles. Fluid was replaced with AMSoil at about 8k.

I asked my shop about it, they went out and drove around, the consensus was that it is indeed a normal noise. Some of the X's just have the whine. Not all of them, we may just be some of the unlucky ones!

Unlucky ones? Luck should not be involved when you pay a lot of money for a car. If the cars are low mileage, all issues should be resolved.

They are mechanical AWD drivetrains so they will be louder than other AWD cars people are used to, but the whine shouldn't be that audible, especially with all other road noises present. I've had people confuse worn OEM tire noise with drivetrain whine in the past.

These cars make noises, that's part of owning one. If you wanted something silent, should've bought something else with all that money.
