Basically I go and get 5 QT containers from walmart of Mobile1 super syn and fill the filter about 50% up, rub the rim and pour the rest in the car. after checking it after its near perfect every time.

I am getting more and more interested in E85, those of you in the area who have it, do you like it, how easy is it to find a station? What are you running on your setup, full blown double pumpers? What size injectors? Constantly E85 or do you have a system to switch back and fourth? This is my DD so i think after E85 i am done modding (maybe....) Just looking for some insight on where you got your parts, your experiences with them and what you would do differently if anything...

Not too many E85 stations in the area...

http://e85vehicles.com/e85-stations.htm

I've been thinking of switching to E85 but unfortunately the closest station is too far.. Good Luck!

Also with the Tephra mods you can switch maps back and forth via a switch.

If it's your DD, I wouldn't do it. As stated, just not enough stations around to justify it imo.

I haven't posted in a little while but things have been crazy in the past couple of months but its sad to say that I will have to let the evo go soon. I hope to be in another evo again in the near future!! Just posted a thread in the for sale section For Sale

E85 will require 30% more fuel . So expect to increase your injector size, and a double pumper will be required at that time as well.

I run E85 all the time , but do not daily drive mine so it is a luxury that I can afford. The Tephra mod will allow you to switch your stock ecu back and forth from pump to E85 with ease

i only run e85 in my ride too, but its a low milage street car not a dd. i beat on a cavalier to get to work and run errands.
my set up:
aem box (requires laptop to switch tunes)
BR double pumpers
1600cc injectors

if you're on stock ecu, then as dan stated above me go with the tephra mod, its really convenient.

e85 stations are few and far between. gas mileage is horrendous on my set up but im slightly overbuilt on the fuel system. for a stock turbo evo running e85 its not too bad comparatively, but i cant give you first hand info. from what i gather from guys with your set up: a walbro 255 and 1000cc injectors should be the minimum for a stock turbo'd evo on corn.

slater and shawn are monroeville locals and they are both running e85 on stock turbo's, unfortunately they are both banned so they cant provide you with info. slater owns j&s dyno and i pm'ed you their info, so hit him up if you got questions

EDIT: i forgot you got a beefed up 20g, i would upgrade fuel pumps too. one walbro may cut it, but not for too long... and im certain you dont want fuel pump failure in the middle of a pull (kaboom)

regardless of whether its a dd, you can still utilize e85. its cheaper than 93 octane and has the capabilities of vp fuels. that doesnt mean you have to run e85 all the time because you have the capability.

for the price vs power potential, its totally worth it. there are hundreds of evo guys that have their dd tuned for race gas, then use race gas when they wanna have some fun or plan to put in work on the street or track. the same applies to ethanol.

**i really dont mean to thread hog, so to everyone i apologize. i usually only speak out when something is within my field of knowlege. in this particular case, i had debated for over a year about using ethanol and researched and addressed it rather thoroughly. im a firm believer in it, and it makes my car very very fast**

I dont know, that might be a tough sell for E85, hard to get for a dd, and im looking at the bill and itll be around 1700 for new injectors, double pump, lines, gauge, etc...
