That must be why on every new EVO, there is sticker on the door that says.

DENNY,

Keep the good wheels. They are worth having.

Its ok dan your car is sick and i totally understand not driving it year round. If i had the finances to get another car for winter time i definitely would.

And yeah those stock tires were not good in the November month. I remember i was trying to brake and it was probably 38 degrees in the morning, wet.... Yeah it was not pretty.

BTW what summer tires are you guys running? I am officially done after this year with my MX's, and i'm looking at all the good options.

Steve

I hear the yokohama Advan A046's are good. 263 dollars EACH now. Not including mounting.

The BfGoodrich G force KD have a good reputaion

The bridgestone potenza RE050A Pole Position are what I have. Great tire. Lower treadwear rating then the Advans.

I had Yokohamas. But they werent the Advans. They were more off a performance all season type of tire. around 130 each. The car still stuck great, handled just as well in corners. But didnt wear out super fast. My advans were about half worn in 3500 miles. Had Mitsu cover my tires to get new ones for free and these are what they gave me upon my approval. I had about the same miles on the new ones and they still looked new.

Yeah those Yokos are awesome Dave. Believe it or not they were cheaper when the evo first came out. I believe they were 235 a pop. I have looked into potenza SO3's because we ran them on our old project wrx and honestly, those were just as good as the advans. And i believe they are around 180.

These tire companies get away with murder.

Yeah i had wear issues at first, but the dealer misaligned my car which caused them to show the belts at 4k.
