Edit: If saturday is not an option, i'm good for Sunday as well...sort of wanted to get it on before the meet, but oh well.
I agree with dan......I would just do the turbo-back now and just get it tuned. Leave the O2 housing when you can do the manifold and everything at once, will save you a huge headache.

My friends IX made 315whp on the mustang dyno at cbrd with a catback, mbc, drop-in and self tuned.

So you can def. gain power from a good tune and the TBE

as stated PB blaster is your best friend. you're probably going to need at least two cans.

get an o2 sensor socket from pep boys. they're like 7 bucks.

get some exhaust sealant, just in case you need to fix any small leaks.

get some anti seize for when you put the o2 sensors back in.

make sure you have a couple good breaker bars handy.

it's very helpful to be able to get the whole car up at once. i used ramps in the front and jackstands in the back.

if you want to unbolt the downpipe from the o2 housing (while under the car) you can use several socket extensions to avoid having to remove the under tray. i think we had to use 5 or 6 4" extensions. saves you about 45 minutes taking the undertray off and putting it back on.

for the turbo back exhaust, you will be looking at about 3.5 - 4 hours on the install. i have heard the o2 housing can be an additional 4 hours itself.
EGAD! 3-4 hours for the TBE? I mean, I know its an Evo, but c'mon...its bolt on stuff. I could probably do that faster. Its the 02 housing that's the biatch. That I could see taking awhile.

What you have is a great start , get your mods on and get it tuned right now. This will get you some gratification for a little while.
Ok, here is what i'm thinking. I'll get the TBE & 02 housing ASAP. When I go up to Burschur in Jan., i'll have them install a ported/coated manifold and a fuel pump before they give it a tune .

If your offer on the help for the install is still good, lemme know when a good Sunday would be for you. Thanks again for all the help and advice .

To all of us local evo owners.

I will install parts on evos for a smaller fee than a garage. On top of this, you can even watch if you must

I bet everyone can guess who is itching for money to finish a project.

took myself and two friends 4 hours to do. there was some f*cking around involved. a little beer drinking, and one run to get tools we didn't have, you could probably do it in 2.5 - 3 if you were busting *****. most of the time was spent trying to undo rusty bolts and pry out the o2 sensor with a 3 foot long breaker bar.

car only had like 1500 miles on it when i did it, i was surprised the bolts where such a pain in the ***.

I can't believe I'm gonna run these brand new wheels in the winter. Oh well, I'll just clean them a lot.

So I ordered 245/45/17 Blizzaks for my snows and tire rack calls and says that I should get 235s but I said no I have a 9in wide wheel and he goes ok that make sense then but by our books the 245s might rub so this is a final sale...blah blah

245s on a 17x9 will not rub will it? I don't think so...everyone does it?

315whp on cbrd's dyno is pretty impressive with so little mods. I had a tbe, ebc,
works drop in, ams licp, and mellon flash and did 290whp on Chad's dyno.

I'm hoping after my next round of mods and a tune from chad to bump that
to the 330whp mark and alot more power under the curve. Time well tell.

hahaha who would have thought it would have turned out this way. I am sure many of us have made some great friends and etc. Now all we gotta do is catch the WRX guys as far as posts and pages are concerned!

On a side note, what about this weather? Gotta love the evo's handling capabilities in the snow.

Well the big problem is not he 245 part. Its the 45 series. I run 255-40's with not problem. well it did chew up the wheel liners in a spot. nothing bad tho. I would still imagine they will work fine tho. Altho for a winter tire i wouldv'e gone with a 235 anyway. In snow skinny is better! One thing to add tho is mine are +35 offset. Yours seem to be a kinda strange offset.

Just taking a quick look, it looks like the 245 is 25.7 in dia. That is alittle big. 25.5 is about max. Your better off with a 255 -40. they are only 25.1.
