local Pittsburgh Meet
that doesn't sound like a bad idea chad.
how many people should we shoot for? and would it be for baseline pulls or some tuning? because mike and i and going to need to get a good tune come spring with all the new goodies we're adding to our respective cars.

Did someone say dinner?? I'm down as long as it's mid May!
if you're just getting a basic flash, you don't have to go to the shop to get it tuned.
i got my flash like alot of the others here by getting it emailed to me, and flashing it myself with a tactrix cable. then i take a couple logs, send the logs back, and then if any changes are needed they update you via email.
it works well for stock or lightly modded cars.

Do you guys run a more basic map for the winter or leave it the same? I know Dave and a few guys just run their normal map..
I may be interested in going... I dont want tuned but I want to dyno, im sure it will be a heart breaker but oh well
I know a couple other people that would probably be in if this would go down. Would need to know all costs, etc.
Rob I run my map all year.....in the cold it just makes more power
No need to change it except turn the boost down some if it goes a little higher from the cold.
That sounds like a plan. Maybe i'll just get a Jestr Tune as I have heard only positive things about them. Then in the spring, i'll have saved up for some more stuff and we'll all go up and get dynoed by CBRD. Sounds like a plan, count me in.
.
I just don't want to have to go up to CBRD by myself in the winter...thats a freakin' hike.

Wow, I've been on evo m for like 4 years and I cannot figure out how to quote multiple people in one single reply. Oh well...
Travman, I got ya on the parts. I was under the impression you only used generic ebay parts... I agree with you about trying to save some money. Something I should have done.
Mike evo, where the hell have you been??? haha
Canexican - I did a CBRD trip last summer all in one day. It wasn't too bad. It only takes about 3 hours to get there. Chad will make the car faster so you get home even quicker.
As far as tuning the stock ECU goes... Thousands of people run Al's tune, thousands of people run jesters tune, thousands of people run Mark's (turbtrix) tune... I personally have been tuned by three different tuners, each for basically a whole different setup. Big Al, CBRD, and Turbotrix. My opinion, strictly my opinion, is that no tune is as good as a 1-on-1 dyno or road tuning session. My advice would be to get with some locals and try to get something setup to tune your own car. I'm still trying to do that myself. It'll take you about 10x longer to tune your own car than jester, but the results should be very similar. If you do decide to go with a pro tuner, you really can't go wrong. It's not like they're going to blow up your car. Well, at least I don't think so.
I'm definately up for a CBRD dyno day. I'm coming back for a redemption run! Chad, make sure you have plenty of kleenex's handy! By April or May I should definately have a fixed Tranny.
