My opinion, strictly my opinion, is that no tune is as good as a 1-on-1 dyno or road tuning session. My advice would be to get with some locals and try to get something setup to tune your own car. I'm still trying to do that myself. It'll take you about 10x longer to tune your own car than jester, but the results should be very similar. If you do decide to go with a pro tuner, you really can't go wrong. It's not like they're going to blow up your car. Well, at least I don't think so.

Given that Jestr has two week turn around times now for just my maps I'd say just do it yourself too. It's frustrating waiting a week at least to get a degree of timing pulled. The logging, sending back and waiting ANOTHER week or more.
and another. ...........

A job you should do in an afternoon takes a month or more to accomplish and you pay for the privilege of being ignored. Every time I get a flash I have to pester him to look at the logs.

Is it worth the wait? I think so? Maybe?

My advice? Pay for the base flash for XYZ mods. Then make adjustments yourself.

TTP is still the cheapest base flash and sends good bases to work off of.

No generic parts on my car....well my test pipe, but nothing else

Good points on the tuning....took the words out of my mouth. A good tune is when someone is in the car making changes and seeing real time data and listening to the motor and how the car is responding. E-flashes are convenient but I wouldn't want someone tuning my car from another state and being at the mercy of "his schedule"

I choose to tune on my own because its really not hard.....once you understand what your doing you don't have to be afraid. Just remember the knock sensor is your friend as much as sometimes you want to rip it out and stab it in its black heart!

Very true. I have made quite a few different maps for the AEM just to get pissed at the knock sensor , pulling timing. You want to go into the AEM and just turn it off but then reality sets back in and you realize how nice it is that its there

Uggh...I can't deal with a two week turnaround time on a tune - if that is how long Jestr takes. My Evo is my DD. Hey Travman, wanna help me tune my car after I get the parts installed? Would you take alchoholic beverages/cash for payment? I'm so sick of my mods collecting dust in the basement. I need some help here... .

Get your mods on the car now!

Hookup with travman for some baselines to work with , Make sure you have wideband O2 installed , it will help Travis greatly and yourself.

In the mean time you can rock those exhaust mods without tune, it really wont hurt but wont be optimized either , Your car will be big improvement with just your mods and a good base flash even

yeah wideband is important when you look at the $200.00 cost vs. new motor It is the best all around tool you can have for your car.

and you can def. run with exhaust mods and no tune....the stock tune is so rich and conservative you wont hurt anything.

Do you have a mbc yet? btw i sent u a pm

Someone willing to pay much more than I did I decided to sell them to him before I got them, and once I looked at them I knew I made the right decision. The quality of the paint work on the black-out was not something I would have put on my vehicle, and they were supposedly professionally done!
