Oh SH*T - Not Good.
Dave the front pipe is hitting the acd because its most likley the wrong one...There is a difference in the evo 9 front pipe and the evo 8... Basically its a little step out where the acd comes down futher in the 9.....The acd is heat sensitive if its too close to the exhaust it could damage the clutches, in the acd...If you need me to put a bolt in the hanger let me know.....
I was showing a couple of buddies of mine the sound of the new exhaust from inside the car. I was in second gear and floored it from about 3000rpm. It was pulling pretty hard and then all of a sudden, the engine sort-of bucked. It momentarily paused at around 5000 rpm and then picked back up pulling just as hard till I shut it down at about 6000rpm. Needless to say, I took it pretty easy after that. My guess is knock, but that is just a guess as I have no knock sensor or A/F gauge. I've never experienced this before, so I could use some
on a diagnosis.Mike, I might be down to baierl tomorrow to get that bolt put on, thanks.
Ok, kind of concerned now...here's why:

If you cannot access the stock ecu then dial down the boost a touch until you get flashed. If you cannot either access the ecu or turn down boost then well , my suggestion is hookup on a cheap a$$ mbc for a short term solution to control your boost and you will not run into this until you get a flash. or get that AEM EBC hooked up so you can control the spike better maybe.
You should hook up with someone who would be kind enough to log your car , and load in a conservative flash for you to avoid forcing you into a full tune until you get all the bolt ons on the car that you want to get tuned with. Talk to Travman he can probably help you log and load a few flashes that should help you with you current needs

Do you have a mechanical boost gauge to kind of get an idea of where your boost was?
I agree with steelcity, get a mbc because its a lot easier to tune than the stock system and will hold boost a hell of a lot better. In the end the mbc just makes life easier and you can get one from joe p. mbc for a nice price. I run the XZ mbc, its ugly but functions great and is $45.00 shipped if your looking for something cheap that just plain works (I have had mine for 6 years and on 3 different turbo cars)

I never really ran the stock boost control or had issues with fuel cut.....soon as the factory break-in requirements were met I had a boost gauge, mbc, and catback on my car.
Knock usually wouldnt cause the car to buck.....as it knocks the ecu pulls timing until the knock is gone and slowly adds it back in. Unless you have enough knock that pulls enough timing that you feel the car start to lose power you really wont know its happening without logging

Hey Canexican, I have an extra hallman mbc. I had some trouble with it at first, but I cleaned it up really good and greased it lightly. (Not a whole lot can go wrong with a ball and spring type bleeder mbc.) You can have it if you want. I tried to get like $40 bucks for it shipped, but there were no takers. No point in even wasting my time shipping it for anything less. Let me know if you want it. Perfect for your application.
i have all my stock parts, they'll go with the car.
looking to get 28.
Just tired of putting miles on it driving it to work everyday. i feel bad
i just want to get a beater and pay off my school loans..
mike knows i really want a white IX RS too haha

Just thought I'd give a little update on my car:
Pretty sure you guys are right that it is over-boosting and hitting fuel cut. I was semi-flooring it a few times and noticed that it was spiking close to 1.4 bar. It used to spike around 1.2-1.3 bar. I floored it on the highway just to see if it would do it again, but forgot to look at the gauge - it did. So, yeah, I sent you a PM, TheGame. Definitely getting a MBC for the time being. Thanks for the help guys

Wow Evo's sure have gotten expensive. I looked at my window sticker the other day and my car only cost 28,500 new. Oh well, I think my lead dosn't want to spend that much. Thanks tho and good luck with the sale.
Dane I know you want to give me that 5 speed!!
