I hear ya man, I broke my $900 Varis CF lip a year back. I only had it for like 3 months. Sucks. I bought a FRP Varis lip for the replacement. I got a killer deal on it for like $400 shipped.

I thought about the whole porting deal, and since I had a ported manifold now, I thought it might be neccessary to port my 10.5. I read threads on here with everyone saying you can't do it with a dremmel, you can't use the cutting stones, etc. BS. I cranked my rotary tool on 9 (highest) and went to town. It does eat up the stones after a while, but I had like 20 of them. I just took a little material off and tried to gasket match it with the manifold. Now it's slightly larger and totally smooth. I did the filing, sanding, polishing, etc. The only hard part is getting down inside, which you really cannot do. Other than that, it's an easy job. You don't have to worry about screwing up because cast iron is so damn strong it takes a while to take off some material. Worth it considering they would charge $60 bucks for the hotside and a week of down time if you don't have an extra one.

we're around here. we're all just elusive.

there's probably about 3 dozen total that i know of in the area. DC is a much larger area though. you guys probably have at least twice that many around.

I have an extra 10.5 hotside, single flapper (The good one) for sale. Used for 3,000 miles. Minor issues with bolts and studs, but I have extra's if you need them. I also had to do some minor, minor flapper repairs. The one part was bent. It's straight now. If anyone's interested let me know. They cost $300 bucks new. Price is BO, negotiable, whatever. I just need to dump it. The lowest I've seen one go for was $150 and it was a dual flapper with many miles on it. (old version) The highest was like $225. Somewhere in between would be good.
