local Pittsburgh Meet
actually, i like so far, i like them alot.
it's a bit more brutal over bumps and potholes, and now pulling in everywhere makes me nervous (even though it is only .9 in drop), but other than that the car feels much more stable and flat through the corners.
gonna have to wait and see if this translates to better times on the cart track for me

I really like the clutch so far Mike. I drove out to starlake last night for the Allman Bros concert, this was the first real drive around other then a few 20 mile jaunts around. It really isn't all that bad to steet drive it. Now if you ever get in traffic tho. It sucks! way to finiky to be stop and going for a while. I'll really let you kno after this weekend. I'm heading out to Reading Pa for another hillclimb! This one is called Duryea, its the longest one on the circuit. 2.5 miles.
. We'll see if i can come home with a victory finally.

I believe the single discs have more pedal pressure than a twin-disc from what i read which would make it more stressful on the leg during stop and go driving.
The twin-disc i have heard has near stock like pedal pressure which is what tires your leg out in stop and go traffic more than anything....
Clutches period are hell in stop and go traffic though

after about a week or so, my leg built up some strength and it was all good though, pain in the *** in traffic. but only a bit more than the stocker.
My teg has a rps carbon/carbon the pedal pressure was insanely stiff. I got somewhat use to it....but If I drove the integra alot I would actually start getting lower back pain. Once I got the evo it didn't feel like it had any pedal pressure at all...so I guess it's all relative.
Hey justin,
Quick question about the time attack on the wilson circuit. What kind of time did you get out on the track? I mean were you out there for 10-20 min sessions or just a few laps? I'm debating on doing a flat out day or this, I would rather do the wilson but didn't want to pay 85 bucks for a few min. of track time.

Mike i'd say go do a track day before the wilson ciruit if your measuring it in track time. Wilson circuit is less the 60 sec a lap and you only get 12 maybe. It is a blast but its more like an auto-x in that respect. You end up working alot and driving alittle. It was only $50 the first time, and i think its worth that! $75 is alittle steep. I'll be doing it if i decide not to go to the TT at summit point that weekend.
Now back to the clutch. Yes the pedal feel is no stiffer then stock. Heck i sit in nuetral most of the time in traffic so holding down the pedal dosnt really bother me. Now the problem is the engagement and the slow speed feathering you have to do with clutchs. thats were its different then stock. Now its really not that hard to drive it smooth, its just kinda a pain because it takes some work.

mike,
like jeremy said, you'll probably only get about 15 minutes total of driving time. last time we ran it they gave us a warm up lap, three timed laps, and we were done for that heat.
then we would get a short break, and be back in our "pods" for another set of laps.
then we work for a little bit, which honestly just mainly consisted of standing around watching cars with the occasional red flag. no picking up cones or any thing like that
it's alot cheaper than an open lap, but i think relative to driving time the open lap day may be more cost efficient per lap, if that makes any sense.
it's a fun thing to do though, it's something different.

Chad at CBRD told me I should do this. He said it's a ***** to do, but it makes the stock clutch feel like a totally different clutch. Ask GNV Steve, I beleive he had a SS clutch line put in. (I think that removes the restrictor.) For those who really like to dump the clutch, I'd leave it in. I guess it's all about how you drive it.
