Yep, rolled the rears myself... turned out really well but was a little difficult. I rented the roller from speednation on 88. 25 bucks for the week, and he threw in the heat gun!

Car had 17x8.5 gram light 57s in bronze with 255/40/17 kumho ecsta mx's.. its really a night and day difference between those and these new RE's. The kicker is that these actually weight less then the 17x8.5 gram lights did and these are much larger at 18x9.5

Where is this meet the 18th happening?

I have a few work related things to get done on the 25th but I definitely plan to be out at the waterfront for that meet.

I'm glad you found the roller there. I forgot Mike and Cannon had one. Mike is one of the people who got me into hillclimbing. He has i believe 30 hillclimb records. Now i just need to eat thru these Nt01 tires so i can put on a set of 275 R1's. Lets hope i don't have to roll the front all that much.

For a build of your magnitude I would think a $4k engine build would be reasonable cost wise?

Atleast at buschur you know it will be done right....I wouldnt trust just anyone to build a motor with what you want it to do. You have some serious goals in mind, that will require a serious well built motor

There's always Slowboy Racing! Or you could build it yourself. Just ship everything out and put it back together yourself. It's a very tough and time consuming job, but I just saw a thread on someone who did just that. Not many people can claim that they built their own engine!

Mike, if you're just looking for a ported manifold, I'm sure we can work something out. It's technically Dan's because he gave me the original. Being that there are so many extra stock manifolds lying around, I'm sure you won't have any problems. Mine is tapped for an EGT gauge though.

Its really not hard to build your own motor and I encourage everybody to do it. However I'm biased because I'm the kind of person who takes pride in working on my own car and learning along the way.

Here are a few pics of the motor apart then in the car:

....and here is a picture of its first startup backed out of the garage.

When the time comes I'll build my evo motor myself as well.

Truthfully building the motor is not difficult , but having all the proper tolerance checking tools is a must if you have them and can check all tolerance's then get on with it.

well, good news everyone. after some blood, alot of sweat, and some tears, the new works springs are on.

they would have been on last night, but like an *** i forgot to bring the nuts that fasten the caamber plates to the top of the strut. heh.

many thanks to jer for all the help, tools, and the use of his stock front suspension so i could drive home last night. hahaha.

and to my friend lee, who doesn't read this board, but f*ck it.

so i am gonna go cool off, take a shower, and go for a test drive.

Well I want to pick one up eventually to send to ppi and have it ported and swaitech coated. If I come by one for the right price I will grab it just for the future. I probaly won't use it till next year cause I'm still unsure if I want to upgrade the turbo or not.
