- uninstall the program / drivers, etc.

- restart the pc and reinstall the program and drivers

- go drive the car around for like 10 min. get it up to temp - I know this is weird but I have had this problem and had to have the car warmed up before it would let me do anything.

If that doesnt work you can try forcing it - keep the car running then hit the read button. It should shut the car off and read the ecu. I have had to do this with flashing before.....

Bad cable perhaps?

- if you can try someone else's cable with your laptop and see what happens. If that works then its probably your cable. If not then try someone else's cable with your laptop and see if that works - trial and error.

ok - just trying to eliminate any variables. I would say you need to get someones laptop that know works and try your cable for ecuflash. The flashing cable (white plug) could be damaged because you dont use it to log.........

I'm sorry, but I really don't understand the point of all of this. We all own Evos and we know how capable they are. Why are people getting into a pissing contest over this stuff? Isn't the whole point of being an enthustiast to appreciate others cars for what they are - not for what they arent? Who cares if somone's build isnt going to plan or if they didnt get to do a roll race when they said they would...BFD. Unless you're Paul Walker and living your life a quarter-mile at a time, this is all really pointless and ultimately just wasted bandwidth. Please, for the sake of everyone else that doesnt want to read about it, keep it private. Thanks .
