how bad are your brakes? autocross isn't as intense on those parts as you might think. i am going on 14,000 miles on stock rotors and pads with 20+ autocrosses and 2 kart track events, plus my normal driving. the pads are starting to get a bit close, but i think i could get most of this season out of them.
yea, but you don't drive all that fast.. , i know sport compact car, or some other tuner mag did a test with the ferrodo on the evo and sti. i don't remember the conclusions, but they had some good pic's of glowing rotors.

Regardless, I attempted to buy brake parts today as I deemed them necessary for AutoX. Much to my dismay, Stoptech no longer manufactures they're rotors as they merged with another brake company...and the price went up significantly. I couldn't even buy pads as Gruppe-S and SpeedElement were both out of rotors and pads. Freakin' AutoX season...I didnt realize how many people were into it. I'm gonna have to call some other retailers tomorrow and hopefully get them and have them installed before the weekend.

The only things I have ordered are Agency Power brake lines and 2 bottles of Motul 600 fluid. Still need the pads and rotors - you know, the LEAST important stuff before Sunday ...Oh, and Travman, I called RotorPros and all I got was an answering machine . I'll probably be forced to try again tomorrow.

What type of pads are you looking to get? Also what type of rotor? I'd look at the DBA rotors they seem pretty nice. Or are you thinking 2 piece. Maybe hit up GNV if you need help finding things. They have always been a good company to buy from. If you still have a hard time finding things let me kno. I do have an in at a place they call Auto Parts Exchange. This is mostly a true auto parts store and not some online only place so. .

I 've been looking at Ferodo 2500s, PF Z's, and Porterfield RS-4's. As far as rotors are concerned, i'm less picky on the company, but more picky on price. I'm not really looking to go all out as far as the two-piece rotors are concerned (I just know I'm not going to be tracking enough to justify the price). Any more advice on who to go with or where to buy would be .

on another note, i found this picture on another message board, and though you guys might get a kick out of it, will probably only make sense to those of you who own an xbox 360.

I will stick with my rotor pro recommendation - send them an email, they responded to me in a day or so. These aren't for everyone but it would be a good rotor for a normal daily driver that does an occasional track day here and there. On the auto-x you don't use them enough to even worry. Here are a few threads to read over - I will be going with these when the time comes.

RRE sells performance friction pads and Project-Mu, call them up.

I have hawk pads. I will not buy them again. Get the Ferrodos. EOT.

Rotors. I got powerslot slotted rotors. Overall I am happy with them. my stock rotors were done at 12k and these have lasted a good long time without issue.

DBA rotors and ferrodo pads would probably be the way I would go if I had to do it over.

Hey nothing wrong with that....I just think if that's the case you should be
driving a honda and not a evo. I would say prius but they actually cause more
damage to make one then they save. See I'm conscious of the fact, I just have
a problem with the follow threw...lol

Well, mostly the master cylinder was all F'd up. But it also could have been another thing too that I can't really get into. Mike saved the day. I'll just leave it at that.

Stock rotors done at 12 K??? That's crazy. I'm going on 36K and they haven't even been cut yet. What's a little shake when braking at 100mph???
