Yes...I know about the 135i. I agree, probably faster by a hair because they are lighter...but I didn't like them. I prefer the 335i. I think BMW missed on that one...it should have been priced under 30K if they really wanted to grab that first time Bimmer buyer. I am seeing some 135i in the 38k to 42k range...and I can find 335i for that same price. More back seat room in the 335i....for when I pick up the ladies
alright guys, i need a little advice. under my car there is a heat shield between the body of the car and the exhaust. it's come loose in a few places and is rattling at anything under 3k rpms.
i tried to get it out the other day, but two of the supports that hold it on are also anchor bolts for the driveshaft. which wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that my exhaust is just a *bit* too large to let me access one of the bolts needed to drop the driveshaft and heat shield.
now the obvious solution would be to take off the resonator pipe to access the bolt, but after the ***** of a time i had getting the resonator pipe to seal to the rear of the cat, i am not willing to remove it again.
has anyone else removed their heat shield? i tried getting in there with my dremel, but no dice. it's too large to fit in between the driveshaft and exhaust pipe.
i could probably get away with just trimming most of it off under the front footwells. i thought about using a saw zaw, but i think i would end up damaging the body because of how close the heat sheilf hugs it. and i don't have on. ha.
so basically i am looking for a lazy and effective solution.

Someday, you will see the light Colin...someday.
Mike...I'm officially jealous. I'll be missing the meet as well. I'll be at Cedar Point that weekend. I didnt realize that the American Les Mans series was going to be at Mid-Ohio at the same time
. I've heard that is an awesome time. Pretty sure that my girlfriend would sh*t a brick if I even proposed the idea of going to Mid-Ohio instead of Cedar Point
. Chicks man...chicks

not even close dude. i've only done 2 or 3 autocrosses and the kart track on them. they're damn near brand new.
