so electronics components are pretty expensive...
i was checking out these alpha numeric 14 segment LEDs, about .4" tall
they are only $1.40 for green and $9 a piece for blue ones!!!
not only that, but it looks like they can only be reflow soldered, because 6 of the pads are underneath the package...
i'm going to try and reflow them with one of these

can't you get one of those rectangular tips and solder with that?
this is what the package footprint looks like, x's being the pads.
Code:
___________ x| |x | x x | x| |x | x x | x| |x | x x | x|___________|x

anyone know how to set up an outdoor pond? i was trying to do an experiment and have a fish 'thunderdome' but it didn't go as planned. i may have a bunch of very large fish on my hands shortly.
whoah! will they have lazers? screw the wideband electronics... lets make fishes with lasers.
So I had an interesting ride home...
I've always worried that when I redline the first 3 gears getting onto a highway I might be doing it right in front of a police officer.
Tonite, my fears were realized...I left my parking lot and saw that traffic was moving up on me quickly so I laid pedal to metal as I "merged."
The officer who pulled me over was justifiably very upset with me. After convincing me with his tone and body language that I was getting at least one ticket, I was relieved when he returned with a warning.
I do so rarely drive like a jackass, so I am very grateful that he didn't throw the book at me...next time, he said, would be a different story.
He also told me to remove the tint or "next time I'll write you up for the full 500."
*sigh*... i dunno if i should do it myself (removal), or pay to have it taken off and redone legally... we shall see...right now I'm still a little shaken up, even contemplating ditching the car....
anyone around tonite for some video games?

what tint dave, the back?? I never noticed a dark tint on your car...
Edit: wait, is it that small section of your rear windows? If so, that's lame

Oh man that sucks dave. It is so nerve racking when you get pulled over, at least for those of us that dont get pulled over often. I am surprised there was a cop over there too. I dont usually see them in that part of rt9.
