not only that, but it looks like they can only be reflow soldered, because 6 of the pads are underneath the package...

i'm going to try and reflow them with one of these

let's add a lambda wave soldering station to my basement!

can't you get one of those rectangular tips and solder with that?

yeah i have no problem hand soldering SMT components... but its impossible when the pads are physically underneath the package.

this is what the package footprint looks like, x's being the pads.
Code:

So I had an interesting ride home...

I've always worried that when I redline the first 3 gears getting onto a highway I might be doing it right in front of a police officer.

Tonite, my fears were realized...I left my parking lot and saw that traffic was moving up on me quickly so I laid pedal to metal as I "merged."

The officer who pulled me over was justifiably very upset with me. After convincing me with his tone and body language that I was getting at least one ticket, I was relieved when he returned with a warning.

I do so rarely drive like a jackass, so I am very grateful that he didn't throw the book at me...next time, he said, would be a different story.

He also told me to remove the tint or "next time I'll write you up for the full 500."

*sigh*... i dunno if i should do it myself (removal), or pay to have it taken off and redone legally... we shall see...right now I'm still a little shaken up, even contemplating ditching the car....

anyone around tonite for some video games?

Yea, yesterday same thing, I was pounding through the gears after a woman on the phone was driving slow and I wanted to make the light, I looked to the left as I just shifted to third, wham see a cop...I dont know why he didnt pull me over, but I was like F8ck...still waiting for the day that happens...

what tint dave, the back?? I never noticed a dark tint on your car...

Edit: wait, is it that small section of your rear windows? If so, that's lame

aww man. i had a close call on the way back from NH. a NH statey was hiding in a snow bank, and i blew by him doing over 80 because there was a ton of traffic and a little opened up. sure enough he throws his lights on and tries to merge into the passing lane. there was so much traffic that i was a good 1/2 mile away before he got into traffic. he pretty much lost site of me, and tried to catch up to me. but about half way to me - he decides to pull someone else over. needless to say i really don't speed on MA highways, because i hate staties with a passion. i keep the speeding to the uninhabited backroads, and industrial parks.

Oh man that sucks dave. It is so nerve racking when you get pulled over, at least for those of us that dont get pulled over often. I am surprised there was a cop over there too. I dont usually see them in that part of rt9.
