Chu, I'll help you out anyway I can but you will probably get better results if you take a 'real' instructor with you next time. Its a shame they didn't have enough to go around yesterday, I know there were more then enough instructors at the event, but some of them might not have known they were needed at that time. Thats a great time for only your second event btw. Like I said before I think we all improved with each run, thats really what its all about.

Dan, which NJMP course you talking about, the autox or lightning? Yeah 700whp is pretty nasty especially with R-comps. Little different animal then the EVO

Antiblazed, I wasn't dataloggin my runs so i don't know the average speed but we did the whole course in 2nd gear so we were probably in the middle of second threw the corners.

We need to organize an EVO track day. Peter T. was handing out $100 OFF coupons yesterday for EMRA events. That would make an whole track day cost around $150... thats a steal!

$150 on a Live track per car?

can anyone also let me know the strain, they put there cars through there,
IE changes you HAD to make due to the heat etc, gas in car, if you brought gas i want to be completely set for the may 25th meet

also do we meet anywhere else prior, weekly basis?

ps. i placed one vid up and selection of pictures im going to splice the others togather to make 1 as im not the best vid man and theres alot of Crap on each clip
also if you cant see the vids or pics of even the site let me know..

I was referring to the autox course at njmp. it makes the CBP course look like an open race track.

Antiblazed, correct. thats $150 for the day. you'll likely get over one hour of seat time instead of an autox which is $50 for about 4-5 minutes of seat time.
I'll let Peter chime in on the specifics. Maybe he can even suggest a day/track that would be best for all of us.

For a beginner the stress a track day puts on your car isn't much different then an autox but it has alot to do with how hard you drive it. Most people their first couple of track days aren't putting much wear and tear on their cars for the simple fact that they just aren't fast enough yet. You aren't braking hard, you aren't cornering hard and you aren't WOT all the time so the wear and tear on consumables is minimal.

After you get a few events under your belt, get rides with instructors and see how hard you can drive one of these cars, thats when the brake pads start to get used up, the gas mileage is in the single digits and the tires are screaming for mercy! haha, so much fun.

Dan, the NJMP parking lot is tiny. you can't go really fast so they make it very techincal which I love. But yeah, compared to NJMP, CBP is pretty open. although it does look a lot different behind the wheel then behind the computer, hopefully one day soon we'll get you to experience the difference.

It was nice to see you guys (briefly) on Sun..looked like a great turnout and a nice open course! As I was cruising the paddock I saw several Evo's with Drilled rotors..and since I haven't had a chance to meet everybody yet and connect the cars to people..those who want to try the T.T. with EMRA need to check out the car prep rules on E.M.R.A.s website to make sure your car is prepared. It would suck to show up and not be able to get on track. And I also think it could be very possible to start an "Evo challenge" series of some sort on the east coast road courses. The first question would really be.. how many cars would possibly show up for most/all of the series? But I like the idea alot...let's keep it going. Pete

I talked to someone who came down from North Jersey, and he mentioned they run the events twincea month up there. Is there any way for us to do that at CBP? I'm sure alot goes into planning these events, but I'm trying to get it in as much as I can for experience sake. I'm sure there's alot more ppl interested. There always tons of ppl trying to sign up the day of!

guys, the next autox is going to be at the englishtown road course on 5/9. Doin' an AX on a road course is like the best of both worlds. I'm gonna sign up today (as soon as I get the approval from the wifey of course).

www.autox4u.com - for more info

Also, there is a novice school May 16th-17th. Its $150 to signup and is usually good for about a years worth of seat time. Anyone who wants to be competative should sign up. They are capping the school @ 20 people and 5 are already signed up. There will be 10 instructors for those 20 students so expect ALOT of one on one time with an instructor.

Finally, for the more experienced guys, there is an open track event w/PDA on 6/19 @ Lightning. I say more experienced because you have to be in HPDE level 3 or 4 to participate. Cost of the event is $270 and you will get an unpresidented amount of track time. I'm talking atleast 4 hours if you and your car can handle it. I'm already signed up!

I planned on doing the novice school before my clutch and radiator decided to part ways with the car. Hopefully, my SCCA membership comes in and clutch broken in by that week. I will definitely sign up for it.
