I didn't know how to feel about it until I went over to wawa this morning for air and saw all the harleys and mustang revving the hell out of their stuff....needless to say my concerns have subsided.

i am running a cobb tune for now. i noticed that i am down on power so i got to do some logging to see if i am hitting the boost targets and possibly remove a boost pill if needed.

i am planning on getting an UICP before i get a custom tune but that will take a while with how the wifey is jacking up the house!

have fun at warminster today everyone. weather looks good so far.

You should hear mine now. Yours won't seem so loud. With the headers and a punched cat it's a lot louder than it was. I might just do a muffler delete pipe to finish the job.

You'll get used to the noise. As far as a tune goes, I'm not a big fan of the generic kind. I've done that and I know how *itty the car runs. You really should try to get a custom tune as soon as you can.

I second a custom tune. There's so much more power to be had safely which is paramount if you don't enjoy rebuilding motors. I had an off the shelf tune that almost blew my motor (I won't mention the name but it can be "dynoed" in a "flash"). It felt great until I logged a few pulls and saw the results and ridiculous knock counts (upwards of 30+ counts at WOT). I quickly learned to work with ECUflash myself, but I'd highly recommend getting apat to do it for you. Everyone seems very pleased with his results, you'll make much better power, and you don't have to go through the steep learning curve of doing it yourself.

I think he already knows how to shift gears...haha. I'm getting all worked up hearing you guys talking about ATCO. I'm on the fence about the ported intake manifold now. I really think I'm just gonna get the meth tuned and call it a day. 10's here I come!!!!

I wrote this stuff on my X forum, anyone think they know the problem------

Okay so I have no idea whats wrong with my car right now and im hoping someone can help me explain it better because Im relatively new to tuning

When i really gas it at high rpm and high boost the car starts shaking and hesitating violently as if it doesnt want to go. Also sometimes the center console will say service required in yellow with an exclamation point (!) as well as the Anti Stability Control (ASC) will turn off. When i turn the car off and back on again the center console will go back to normal. Whats is going on?

Here is my list of performance mods:
ETS intake
ETS intercooler pipes
ETS 3.5 intercooler
Hallman Manual Boost Controller set to 25 psi
Ultimate Racing Short Downpipe
ETS test pipe
Tanabe Catback
EcuTek Tune

I have not always had this problem, it drove fine until recently and i havent done anything major to change that. Also, by driving normal you cant feel the problem, the flow is fine. Only when i really step on the pedal does this hesitation and vibrations occur. Any help is greatly appreciated! thanks guys!

nick, i am pretty sure that was a common issue many X owners were experiencing. if you posted in that forum you should get a pertinent answer. i forget now what the solution was. weren't you ivey tuned? or did you add more mods and use ecutek.

my buddy came out to hear it and ride in it. i'm used to it now. we were both swearing that it got quieter the more we drove. i think we were just getting deafer.

i need to get some good logs to figure out if i can run this tune for a while safely. cobb's tunes have always been really conservative. i may post some logs up and see what you guys think. for now i am taking it easy on it just to be sure. plus whatever bothers me is that i have less power than i did with just the stage 1 flash...so i feel like a ricer....all the noise but not as much go. hopefully the logs will show whether i am hitting the boost target (25 psi, according to cobb).

edit: i wasn't ignoring everyone's advice with getting a custom tune. i fully intend to once i got an UICP. i just hoping i can squeak by with this tune with decent power in the interim. my stage 1 was safe enough and fast enough.

that is 100% incorrect. there is an issue with the fuel pump relays but that ASC warning is a totally different issue and there is a specific resolution. i wouldn't know how to search for it given that the search function is useless on here. keep bumping your thread until someone who knows posts.....weekdays will get more posts.

the fuel pump relay thing is the new fad and now i guess the "fix" for everything (sarcasm). i swapped mine on friday with the highbeam one and they both worked fine. also people that are noticing that there are variations in how boost is controled and how it responds to mods. but that is a whole other issue.

it seems that there is a big batch of X's that have several common issues and serveral that don't. weird. i would go as far to say that it may be the early X's that are more problem-free than others but that is just my assumption.
