Philadelphia Car Meets
got new brake pads coming in, anyone wanna help me change them? haha
im thinking about doing it myself, trying to save some money. Are changing pads that involved? or is it pretty straight forward?

It's beyond easy. Loosen the lug nuts, jack the car up safely, remove the wheel, and the pads are removed by pushing 2 pins out of the caliper. I usually tap them out GENTLY with a hammer and small nail punch or something similar. Put the new pads in, replace the pins by tapping them again gently back into place. Bleed the brakes if they need it put the wheels back on. Finger tighten the lug nuts, lower the car and tighten them fully in a star pattern and repeat for the other wheels. If you're going to bleed the brakes, start with the drivers side rear, go to the pass front, then pass rear and finish with the drivers front. The whole process takes like an hour if you're bleeding the system.
Almost forgot, you'll probably need to force the pistons back into the calipers a little to fit the new pads in depending on the wear of your old pads. I have a small pry bar that I use to push them back in once the old pads are removed. It shouldn't be hard to push them back in. Just open the brake resevoir.
Better yet pry off your old pad for leverage, slid a new one in then push it back against the new pad, slid in the second half. I never opened my resevoir or bled my brakes and it was fine.
Oh and when your push the pins a out a large spring loaded clip will fly. You will need it
