Philadelphia Car Meets
id be down for meeting up this weekend. i get home from school thurs late, throat procedure (hopefully last one) fri and then around all weekend if i dont go hunting. wats everyone elses schedule like?
got a question for yall, dont know if anyone will have a guess bc its so vague but figured id ask.
Okay so its been cold as ***** up here in NY and snowing, havent driven the car much since i dont have snows. its been like 2 weeks almost, driven it around the block, started it up and let er run once. drove the car to campus (2miles) this morning and it was great. tried driving to campus again tonight, and as soon as i turned out of my driveway (before it was even warmed up) and the "service engine soon" light came on.
i have been lazy and am over 1000 miles (i think) past the oil change mark (i know, shut up) but the oil level is right in between the two checks on the dipstick. cap was on tight, no leaking fluids. didnt try boosting it so i dont know if theres a leak. immediately turned around, went home, turned off the car and started it back up. light is still on.
figured this would happen since i was just talking about how reliable the car has been for how old it is now. gona scan it for the code tomorrow afternoon after finals and see what it says, but figured id ask all you evo nuts first just in case its something simple with the cold weather or whatever. thanks guys!
also, chu, what did you ever do with the rpf1s, ill be home this weekend...

RPF1s are warm at home. I've got snows for the winter!
hahaha, thats exactly what i've been doing. i dunno i just havent really hit up the site in a while, i pop in and out every now and then, but dont worry im still alive and well. dan i NEVER work the wagon anymore so im never at methodist. ummm anything elseeee, i dunno who thinks i should just take off my under tray? cause its half way hangin off as it is.
good to see you're still alive. i haven't seen many prisoners here at the hospital in a long time either.
as for taking off the undertray? winter time is probably the worst time of year to do that. imagine all the crap getting into your engine bay like salt and other stuff. it is; however, a huge pain in the ***. this weekend i started changing my oil and it was turning out to be record time for me until my frozen hands couldn't get any of the screws back in to put the removable panel back on. took me an extra 45 minutes and a few fits and one cross threaded screw. it is always something i guess right?

Clear the code and see if it comes back. If it does then you know there is an issue, thats what I do.

Didnt really worry about it just kept moving, got dressed and got to my stand.
It was 7 degrees and as soon as I got to my stand and stopped doing things my hand started throbbing bad.
I pulled off my glove and the skin was peeling and all fugged up
So hot to cold hands are no better and maybe even worse
Sunday evening seem to work for alot of ppl. Let's hear some more replies.
Shaw, if you need help with that undertray, my garage is always open. I vote for keeping it on also. I didn't have one when I bought my car, so I bought the Beatrush!

I've ran with any without the undertray for a few years. Only difference I noticed, like people already said, was that more dirt and road grim make there way into the engine bay specifically on the trans with the tray off.
For the last two years I've been running it and I take pride in the fact that I have every single one of those plastic clips installed too!
sure its a PITA to do anything under the car with it on but working on the car anymore is a labor of love so I don't mind that it takes longer to pull 99 plastic clips out then to actually change my fluids.
I would be down to meet up this weekend sometime. I can't commit to a date, but I'll do my best to get out on whatever date is decided.

^^^I'm working in Lancaster right now, staying right off Manheim Pike if you'd like to meet up.
Pete, as for the ignition issue, the car is running fine on the stock coils. I didn't get a chance to re-test the cop last week to make sure it was causing the issue. I will try this weekend when I get back from Lancaster.

chu, one of my vietnamese patients has probably the hottest daughter i've seen (and I am one of the few white dudes that doesn't have a thing for asian girls). you should come to the hospital, i'll hook it up for you
if i get pics of her that would make me the smoothest person on the planet.
"hi i know your mom is sick and all but that is beside the fact that i need to snap some pics of dat *** cauz you is so fine."
