Anyone ever been to one of these, looks wild. At first I thought it was a SoCal thing, then I noticed it's in PA. Carlisle Performance and Style Event

I initially missed his lean spool settings, but even after porting that over the problem still persisted. The first thing I noticed was his fuel trims were maxed out at 100% and 59% for short and mid. I assumed at first that his injectors weren't scaled correctly but now all of a sudden the trims are zeroing out. Looking at his latest log the O2 sensor just goes to 0 at random points and hangs there while his WB shows him lean out to ridiculous levels 59.1 came up on the log. Then it starts working like normal. I'm thinking a bad O2 sensor. He also just started getting a no activity code I think yesterday. Any suggestions on what else it could be?
Did it do any of this before the tephra mods?? 2000 is still closed loop and under total control of the ecu.. LEan spool should have zero effect there. It is possible the car is running in open loop. A bad 02 sensor should throw a code and screw with all of your fuel trims but I think they max out at 30%. IF fuel trims are zero there is probably something wrong, since that never happens..So my guesses are, front 02, bad vacum leak, or fault in fuel system. Hopefully you guys can get everything sorted out

He said it did this stuff for a few weeks before the rom, but it got worse with the tephra. I didn't know he had an issue before I started tweaking the map a bit. I should have made sure it was running 100% first. ran that rom in the VIII version for over a year without a hitch so I don't think it's the tephra exactly.
I always thought they maxed at 30 , but his were reading 100% and 59% which was surprising. Now though, it's coming up much closer to 0 within a respectable range. I think something like -2 and 12%. I had just assumed initially that he had his injectors scaled incorrectly so I tried a different scaling and latency but it made no change. We went back to his original settings, he reset the ECU and now it's fine. It's got me perplexed a bit. I'm guessing a bad O2 because it's all happening under closed loop. It'll drive fine for a few minutes, then it starts with the stumbling. That's why I'm thinking O2 sensor heating up and faulting out.
This was supposed to be a simple richen up a bit and smooth out. Just some minor tweaks and I decided to add the tephra for the knock light because I was in there already. I didn't expect it to be this in depth, but it's kind of fun to diagnose. He's updating EVOscan in case there's a problem there. I'll make sure he has the injector scaling set correctly in it just in case that's the issue with the fuel trims readings.

SInce your car is stock/lighted modded, I'd say keep the oem gap, which I believe is .27.

I haven't been to that one in a long time, when it was still at the fairgrounds. It got moved cause all the hoods moved in. It was really good the first yr or two, 98-99 something like that.

why recirc? it seemed like it was running fine that time I drove it, besides I loved the vta sound.

I just did a ricer upgrade and put on a greddy type RS bov I've been sitting for a while. so far I like how it sounds, no problems driving either but I haven't done a boost leak test to see if its holding like it should...

Still sounds like a VTA actually. It did drive fine, but it feels a ton better with on/off throttle response. BTW, how close are you to Pottstown?

I have the same BOV but didn't put it on the EVO. I adjusted the spring all the way to hard on my DSM and I had no driving issues when pulled out of gear. Just the car ran a little rich probably robbing performance. I loved the way it sounded, that fitting makes it sound nice.

don't worry about mentioning me. i haven't seen any of his patients in at least 9-10 months and i am sure he forgot who i am by now. that's how ENTs roll.

btw ryan i figured you'd be interested in an updated picture of the dog since you like them so much. he just recently stopped eating so i have to bring him to the vet tonight. he gained 33 pounds in 2 months.
