What short shifter did you end up going with? I would of hooked you up with a good deal on the one i have if i knew you were looking for one.
Do you still need that IX battery cap?

Which one do you have Chip? Just curious...I'm not a fan of short shifters in general.

Too smart for that. I have an issue with having much higher intelligence than anyone in positions of higher authority.

Megan racing is what my buddy told me. I like it, and made driving much more enjoyable but i'm thinking i may want to change things up. I also have it in a spare shifter base so it is a direct swap with yours.
I've been debating on and off about selling it and am in no rush to yank it out, i will probably use it a little this summer and then make up my mind.

If someone could figure out how to make a longer shifter lever without changing the length of the throw, I'd be interested in that! I really like the one Fastline designed for Hondas

Chu check out CBRD race car and AMS blue demon. They made spacers to raise the whole shifter assembly.
Higher knob, same throw. I like this idea alot

Aluminum spacers to move the entire shifter console up. who needs a center console anyway. It's just dead weight like the rest of the interior. 2 front seats door cards and a dash gets it done proper.

I think spacers would be hella easy to make or find. Even Home Depot might have something the right size. I agree with you Chu. I had the small ralliart knob since I bought the car, and wanted to go to a short shifter too. Recently I put the CF knob on and it's a good bit taller. It just feels better all around shifting with a taller knob but the same throw. I'm going to make some solid shifter bushings eventually to tighten things up but I'm glad I didn't do the short throw.
I just want to rant and tell the original owner of Johnnyangels evo to f off for all the lying he did about the car. Every time I work on something, it turns into a problem because something is broken or was modded or removed already. I noticed the T-case had some RTV sealant patches at the separation seam, so I decided while the trans was out, I would take it apart and find out why. Turns out something slammed into the tcase and dented/cracked it. The damage is pretty bad and they just jb welded it, then RTV sealed it. It's nasty but fixable. Kind of a douchy thing to do.

The spacers you want are actually technically called standoffs.. I know you are familliar with mcmaster carr, you can even get them in metric sizes from them in a male/female setup

Sucks about the t-case housing.. LMK if you want it welded as I know the fabricator at KHC is excellent at welding aluminum and has done repair to castings before which are a bit more tedious.. He actually repaired dougs serpintine belt tensioner which is cast aluminum right on the bolt eyelet and it is still holding strong..
