^ do you like to do anything yourself except drive?

No, the bits aren't expensive, unless <$20 is expensive. Its not rocket science man, just put the gasket on the flange, outline the areas to be grinded with a marker and have at it. I'd let my 18mo do it for you but he's too busy swapping my front o2 sensor and installing spark plugs with an impact gun.

I'm one of those people who thinks they can't do something until they actually try it. I usually surprise myself once I do start whatever it is I'm trying to do. I just need a little push in the right direction...

I love driving.

Quote: i am looking into pricing for some 800cc injectors and possibly fuel pump. looks like it is going to come out to more than i expected. i'd like to have it all set for the 6th so it can be a one stop to the krazy horse.
Yea man, really no reason for injectors and a fuel pump unless you are doing corn. The fuel pump in the X's is better than those in the 8/9's. It is plenty for the mods you have, and even if you do all bolt-ons.

But of course that all changes when running corn. There actually aren't many X's running it. I would be interested to see the results.

I'm the exact opposite. I always think if 'so and so' can do it, then so can I.

Quote: Dan, I don't like those "one flash for everyone" type tunes, they're really just a waste of $$$ in my opinion.
i wasn't planning on setting it up to run ethanol and just rock an off the shelf tune. it was suggested to me to use as a base map. i was going to get tuned for corn and pump gas and flash with my AP when i need to switch.

running e85 is my plan. that is the reason for the fuel mods. i just don't know if i need to upgrade the fuel pump.

Marc is right, porting isn't that hard as long as you have the right tools, and a little time to spare!

I find it funny that everyone that post in this thread is all over running E85 this year, not that there's anything wrong with that. Were going to be keeping Mr. Turbo busy for a while...

Petey's got to get on here. I got some questions about my potential switch to corn joos.

I've been reading up about all the gunk issues and an incompatible hose in the X fuel tank but I still want to try to run it.

Yea, then you'll at least need injectors. 1,000's might not be a bad idea. Like I said, I don't know too many X's running E85 to know if a fuel pump is necessary? Maybe you can search around the forum a bit...

You going to get both tunes done on the 6th?

Tim, ideally I'd like to get both done at once but I don't think I will be setup in time. Seems as I have a lot that needs to be bought and changed. Maybe this summer.

Thanks Dane I will check it out.

Quote: ^Robert, I saw a guy selling a set of X wheels in the F/S section. I think he wants $800 plus shipping. It should come with rubber for that price... not sure if it does though.
Thanks for looking out Pete, but I bought a set off a dude that sold his EVO X. Got them for $550. That reminds me I have to put up a comment to close my WTB thread.

Quote: the new title is keeping me busy for sure but I haven't lost my passion in the least. I try and come on here at least once a day. There are LOTS of things I read that I'd like to comment on, but the thread moves so fast by the time I get to the end of reading the subject changed 2 or 3 times. So 90% of the time I don't even bother with a reply. I figure I'll catch up with everyone when I see them at the track.
I feel the same. I missed my chance at the Chuck Norris jokes a few pages back. I was surprised the TechnoViking didn't come up in that conversation.

Well I gotta say, happy about the snow. Looks like more playtime is in order. What ever happened to the snow photo shoot?

By the way, Thursdays at Champs in KOP all pints are $2.50 all day.

I texted a few people here but the new guy was born this morning. He looks just like me. Lucky sum***** is set for life. 8 lb 8.7 oz with a freakishly big 14" circumference head to match daddys fat head.
