sounds like a plan. are you interested in a gurney flap too? I'm talking with Derek @ rexspeed...

 

How much rear downforce do think the gurnet flap is worth? I thought about picking one of them up a long while ago, but was scared to as you can't see that well out of the rear window to begin with.

 

^ i dunno. I just remember reading something about how the VG and the gurney flap work well together. If I feel motivated maybe I'll look for the thread. not sure about rear visability... AFAIK its only a little strip of plastic, I don't think it blocks the rear view anymore than the wing already does.

 

this has me slightly worried since I'll be doing 120+ lap after lap. I need something to hold up to the abuse.

A properly taped VG should not come off at speed. Something was up with that thing if it came flying off...

The flap has to take something away from rear visibility, it stands up just about even with the endplates if IIRC. Just sayin'

 

You picked the wrong day btw...

 

i had one on my sock wind sticks up about 1/4in. I always use the adhesive promoter with the 3m tape makes in damn near impossible to pull off. Picked up a new dd got a 01 gti 1.8t

 

they make some really good white duct tape, that along with crazy glue or jb weld should be all i need.

I agree, the choice wasn't mine to make though.

yeah I didn't think it stuck up a significant amount. I'll look into that 3m stuff. grats on the new ride.
